Plexus Slim is billed as an “affordable weight management product” that boasts “no ill side effects” based on “extensive clinical research.” Impressive, but does PlexusSlim work or is it a scam? And does it really have no side effects? I was tipped off to Plexus Slim by one of the readers of this website. After looking at its ingredients, I wanted to write a review of Plexus Slim because of the words used to describe the product and because Plexus Slim seemed to have ingredients that I have never heard of before. Let’s see what we can discover about this weight loss drink.
Who makes Plexus Slim?
According to the Better Business Bureau, the company that makes Plexus Slim - Plexus Worldwide Inc. – was started in 2005 in Arizona. The address of the company is 7440 E. Karen Dr. #400, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
The “#400″ in the address makes me think the company is located in a strip mall. If anyone lives close to this address can you confirm this? Can you take a picture and send to me?
The BBB gives Plexus Slim a rating of “A” as of 10/14/11 and has no complaints against the company. Plexus Slim World Wide is not a BBB accredited company as of 10/14/11.
To buy Plexus Slim it looks like you either have to buy it from the company or through a PlexusSlim distributor. They call Plexus Slim distributors “Ambassadors“. On the Plexus Slim website they have a calendar of Plexus Slim events. These events serve not only to sell Plexus Slim but also to recruit new Ambassadors. Plexus Slim has a multi level marketing aspect to it.
I’ve said before I have no problem with MLM. If the product is reputable, MLM allows people to make an income which can be significant.
Plexus Slim Ingredients
According to PlexusSlim.com the product has these ingredients. A proprietary blend of :
Polydextrose. This is a type of soluble fiber. In theory this might help weight loss since it has no calories and is a type of fiber. Polydextrose
might cause gas and bloating.
Citric acid. I can’t locate any weight loss evidence for citric acid.
Beet root. If Plexus Slim uses the entire beet root, the fiber content of the beetroot might help foster some weight loss because it adds bulk to the stomach contents. That said, I can’t locate any evidence that beetroot helps people lose weight.
Grape skin extract. Grape skin contains phytonutrients such as proanthocyanidins and proanthocyanidins which act as antioxidants. This is nice, but does grape skin extract help people lose weight? I can’t find any proof that it does.
Be cautious if you take medications. Some components of grape skin might interfere with medications such as Coumadin (a blood thinner) and many others.
Lo Han extract. When I Google “Lo Han” everything I saw- other than the stuff about Lindsay Lo Han – says it’s a sweetener. I tried to find evidence that Lo Han helps weight loss but could not find any.
One problem is that Plexus Slim uses “Low Han Extract”. Exactly what “extract” of Lo Han does Plexus Slim have? They don’t tell us.
Stevia. This is a sweetener. It’s added to many low calorie foods. Maybe it might help weight loss by helping people limit calories but I honestly don’t think so. Research suggests that drinking low calorie beverages does not send the signal to the brain that we are full. As such, we still feel hungry.
There are MANY low calorie foods and beverages on the US market, yet Americans are not slimmer than they were, say, in the 1980s.
Natural flavors. They don’t tell us what these natural flavors are. I doubt any of them play a role in weight loss.
The Plexus Slim website also lists these ingredients :
Chlorogenic acid . One study published in 2010 noted that chlorogenic acid helped weight loss and increased fat burning when in rats that were fed a high fat diet (37% of calories from fat).
This is interesting even though it’s a rat study. As far as I can tell, chlorogenic acid has never been tested in humans to see if it helps people lose weight. Another rat study also noted that mulberries (which contain chlorogenic acid) helped weight loss. But was it the chlorogenic acid – or all the other stuff mulberries? As far as I can tell, these appear to be the only chlorogenic acid weight loss studies conducted so far.
Citrin K (garcinia cambogia). Garcinia cambogia is found in MANY weight loss supplements because of some research that it might reduce appetite and help weight loss. Right now, I think all anyone can say is maybe it works or maybe it doesn’t work.
The Plexus Slim website does not tell us how much garcinia cambogia it has.
Here is a study where 500 mg of garcinia cambogia did not help people lose weight. I mention this because if the garcinia cambogia in Plexus Slim is going to work, I’d guess that it would have to be more than 500 mg. For more on Citrin, see my review of Lean and Fab where I discuss other issues related to garcinia cambogia.
Alpha lipoic acid. This is an antioxidant and it helps it turn carbs into energy. It can also help regenerate other antioxidants, which is pretty snazzy.
There are a few studies of alpha lipoic acid and weight loss. In one study, published in 2011, alpha lipoic acid was randomly given to 360 obese people for 20 weeks. Half got a placebo and half got alpha lipoic acid (either 1200 mg/day or 1800 mg per day). Those getting alpha lipoic acid lost more weight than those who got the placebo. Basically, over the 20 weeks, people lose about 2% of their body mass.
In another study, published in 2011, 1127 overweight people were given 800 mg of alpha lipoic acid a day for 4 months. This study noted that alpha lipoic acid, at the dosage given, helped people lose about 8% of their body weight over 4 months.
So if you were 200 pounds, alpha lipoic acid might help you lose about 200 x .08 = 16 pounds. That is a significant amount.
A possible problem with this study was that it doesn’t appear that there was a placebo group. I was also unable to determine (because I only read the summary of the study) if people combined alpha lipoic acid with eating fewer calories (I think they probably did).
A third study from 2010 noted that alpha lipoic acid increased metabolic rate in older, lab mice. In theory this might help weight loss. It was also noted that alpha lipoic acid might reduce muscle loss in older mice as well.
I am not aware of any human studies of alpha lipoic acid helping metabolic rate or muscle loss. Still, if corroborated, the results of this mouse study are interesting .
Alpha lipoic acid, also appears to lower blood sugar. Because of this, alpha lipoic acid might interfere with insulin and other diabetes medications. Diabetics, talk to your doctor before using Plexus Slim. People who take synthroid for hypothyroidism (low thyroid) likewise should talk to their doctor. Alpha lipoic acid seems to reduce thyroid hormone levels.
Oxypregnane steroidal glycoside. This is a pretty fancy name but you have heard of this stuff before. Plexus Slim doesn’t tell you that this this ingredient - “Oxypregnane steroidal glycoside” – is just a fancy way of saying Hoodia! Here is a study that proves that both names mean the same thing.
I think the makers of Plexus Slim call it Oxypregnane steroidal glycoside because they are trying to make the product sound different and special. In reality it’s just plain old hoodia gordonii.
The other fancy name for hoodia is P57AS3 – you have probably seen this listed in other supplements as “P57“.
I’ve already reviewed hoodia and weight loss. Other supplements that I’ve reviewed previously that contain hoodia include the Hoodia Patch , Thin Gloss Lip Gloss and Healthe Trim.
For at least 10 years, hoodia gordonii has been in more weight loss supplements than you can shake a stick at - but there is no good proof that hoodia supplements help people lose weight! Until its proven to me, I say save your money on hoodia.
In 2011 researchers looked whether Hoodia gordonii would help people lose weight. They used 50 overweight people in this study. People were randomly given either hoodia or a placebo. The study lasted 2 weeks. The people in the study were allowed to eat as much as they wanted from a menu provided by the researchers. At the end of the study hoodia did not cause any weight loss.
While no serious side effects were reported, researchers did note that people who got hoodia had higher blood pressures and heart rates compared to people who got the placebo. Hoodia also seems to cause elevations in bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase. What caused these changes I do not know.
As I reported in my book on supplements hoodia gordonii seems to share some chemical similarity to a class of heart drugs called cardiac glycosides. In fact, if you Google “Hoodia and cardiac glycosides”, you’ll even see a lot of people who promote hoodia gordonii saying this.
If you have heart or blood pressure issues please see your doctor before using Plexus Slim or any hoodia supplement, just to be safe.
Chromium. While the makers of Plexus Slim does not specifically spell out the type of chromium the product has, they do say “amino nicotinate”. This again is fancy talk for “chromium nicotinate”.
You may have heard Dr. Oz talk about chromium polynicotinate on TV . I reviewed what Dr Oz had to say about this form of chromium and I am guessing that this is why Plexus Slim includes chromium nicotinate over chromium picolinate.
How much does Plexus Slim cost?
One of the slogans for Plexus Slim is “At last, an affordable weight management product.” I guess that depends on how you define “affordable”. On the Plexus Slim website they have different prices depending on whether you want to buy it just once or be billed each month automatically. If you want to buy Plexus Slim one time only, its $84.95. If you want to be billed automatically at the 15th of each month, Plexus Slim is $79.95/ month. Either way, both prices are a LOT of money. Based on the tiny differences in price, I don’t see why anybody would choose to have Plexus Slim Auto shipped to them.
Does Plexus Slim have any side effects?
If you look at the Q and A page of the Plexus Slim website (question 7) where it’s asked: “Will Plexus Slim interfere or react with any medications or other supplements?” the makers say: ” No. Extensive clinical research has demonstrated no ill side effects with any medications or other supplements.”
Ummm, where is all the “extensive clinical research” on Plexus Slim? As far as I can tell Plexus Slim has NEVER been tested to see if it interacts with any medication or health condition. The makers of Plexus Slim never say this fact.
That’ said, I disagree 100% with their bold claim that Plexus Slim does not interact with any medication or health issue. If the makers of Plexus Slim really did look at the “extensive clinical research” they would know some of the possible side effects that I’ve already listed here. Why don’t they mention it?
I would be extra cautious about Plexus Slim if you have any problems with your heart, blood pressure, kidneys, liver, mental disorders, diabetes or digestive problems. I would not recommend Plexus Slim if you had bariatric surgery either. To their credit, the makers of Plexus Slim do say to see your doctor first if you are pregnant. I agree with this.
The Plexus Slim Accelerator
This is another product sold on the Plexus Slim website. The word “accelerator” is a tip off that this product is a stimulant. At $39.95 for a 30 day supply, I say it’s an overpriced stimulant too!
The Plexus Slim Accelerator contains trace minerals (they don’t say which minerals), calcium and magnesium from seaweed (both are useless for weight loss) and vitamin B6 (useless for weight loss). The accelerator also has a “proprietary blend” of:
- Dark Chocolate – won’t help weight loss, unless it has caffeine
- Natural Caffeine – natural or not, it’s caffeine!
- Green Tea Extract – probably has caffeine or EGCG
- Vanadium Chelate. Fancy name for Vanadium. It won’t help weight loss.
- B-Phenylethylamine HCl – might act as a neuro chemical. Avoid if you take antidepressants.
The Plexus Slim Accelerator also has an inexpedient called GeranaX. Other names for this are, 1,3 Dimethylamylamine or “DMAA”. The name “GeranaX” is a made-up word. In other words, the name GeranaX holds no scientific meaning. Let’s discuss GeranaX a little more.
The ingredient GeranaX seems to act like ephedra or bitter orange (synepherine) which are potent stimulants. As such, it may raise blood pressure and heart rate to dangerous levels. Here is a case report of a 21 year old man who suffered a stroke after taking 2 DMAA pills.
Remember DMAA is another name for Dimethylamylamine (GeranaX)
Di methy amyl amine “looks” like amphetamines (“speed”). This is why question 6 of the Plexus Slim Q and A page mentions that this ingredient may cause a positive result on a drug test for amphetamines. Here is a study showing that dimethylamylamine causes false positive drug tests for amphetamines.
I recommend that all people -healthy and not healthy – avoid the Plexus Slim Accelerator.
Plexus Slim Bio-Cleanse
This is a laxative. Always remember, the word “cleanse” means laxative. The Plexus Slim Bio Cleanse supplement lives up to its laxative name because it contains magnesium, which is indeed a laxative. Remember “Milk of Magnesia.” Either way, laxatives don’t cause any weight loss other than mostly water (and of course, poo). The Plexus Slim website lists 2 prices for this product – $29.95 or $39.95 -both of which are too pricey for me.
Will Plexus Slim work?
Honestly, I’m not sure since Plexus Slim itself has no published proof that it works or is safe for everybody. That means we have to look at the research on the ingredients. Of all the ingredients in Plexus Slim it’s alpha lipoic acid and maybe garcinia cambogia that have most of the weight loss proof. I think they are the active ingredients in Plexus Slim.
That doesn’t mean Plexus Slim works because the product may not have the same amounts of these ingredients as researchers used.
Personally, I would forget overpriced Plexus Slim and get a bottle of alpha lipoic acid and try it for a month and see if it worked. Whatever you try, see your doctor before you experiment Plexus Slim - or its ingredients because of possible side effects.
What do you think?

Great article on plexusslim. I became an Ambassador just to see if some of the claims i was hearing was true. i was in pharmaceutical sales for 33 yrs and some of the claims were incredible. i am sure when the FTC get wind of some of these claims they will be knocking at their door. i was told at a meeting i could not be held liable for making claims that were not substantiated. FTC stated even if info is on a brochure provided by the company, you could be liable. just like most MLM companies, when the heat comes, the owners will pack up all their money made from stupid people and head to their private island. PEOPLE BEWARE!!!!!!!!
Pets thats interesting. I also was interested that they call their distributors, Plexus Slim ambassadors. I am seeing the word “ambassador” come up a lot in MLM companies lately. I guess that’s more agreeable than the word distributor?
Thank you for the information on Plexus Slim. From all the sites I have read, the incredible weight loss posts are always followed by the “ambassador’s” Plexus Slim webpage for purchase of this product. There are hundreds of miraculous weight loss products on the market and none are effective for life-long health management. What is most disturbing about the selling tactics of Plexus Slim “ambassadors” are the claims of “throw away your prescriptions; Plexus Slim is cure for diabetics, high blood pressure, high blood sugar.
Especially disturbing is the Breast Cream claims. These products been not been tested by the FTC. Everyone can decide what is best for their lives. I can only caution consumers to research for themselves. As for the MLM–selling the dream of Wealth Without Work. I agree with poster: “just like most MLM companies, when the heat comes, the owners will pack up all their money made from stupid people and head to their private island. PEOPLE BEWARE!!!!!!!!”
Elaine thanks for letting me know about that! I had no idea Plexus Slim Ambassadors said stuff like that!
Here is just one ambassador’s post on internet. There are many more:
“This is a great product in that it helps people with diabetes and they also lose weight. Not advertised are.the other benefits to include improvements in lupus and fibromyalgia sufferers, reduced dependency on cholesterol medication and relief from arthritis pain. The Plexus organization also distributes other worthwhile products to include breast cream used twice per day to remove cysts.”
One ambassador posted a disclaimer on their site:
“This Plexus Truth Blog is not meant to be a substitute for any professional advice, guidance, or counseling. I’m not a doctor/nutritionist/dietitian/personal trainer. Basically my opinion is NOT what you should base your own healthy living decisions off of. I am writing my own experience as an ambassador for a company called Plexus Worldwide every one of us have his or her own experience. If you are using any of the content/products provided here, you are using that at your own risk. I recommend you contact a qualified professional if you are planning to change your exercise or eating habits. They can be invaluable and help you safely start a weight loss or exercise program.”
Does the statement, “If you are using any of the content/products provided here, you are using that at your own risk” relieve the ambassador of personal responsibility should this product cause health issues for consumers?
Elaine, thanks for sharing that. The little disclaimer she had might help protect her to some degree but an attorney would know best. What caught my attention was the comment about how the breast cream could “remove cysts”. Technically that is a drug claim and the FDA takes those seriously. Since there is no proof the breast cream removes cysts, the best she could get away with was to say that breast cream “supports healthy breasts” or something like that.
Thanks for your reply. Notice the ambassador does not say “could” remove cysts. The ambassador’s claim is “removes cysts.”. Serious claim, one the ambassador could be held liable for, despite what company is telling distributors. I read on another diet review that another ambassador is now claiming Plexus Slim cures athletics foot. Disturbing, these false claims.
Elaine, I agree. Im guessing that the Plexus Slim Ambassitors do not understand the laws that regulate supplements. Thats something that Plexus Slim needs to address in their Ambassador education.
This is an excellent article! Thanks for the detailed info you provided!
I have one friend who has had some moderate weight loss on this product, but she has been taking it since July. She uses the accelerator and the drink. Once you do the math, she has paid about $60 a pound! That is crazy. Get a gym membership, go to WW, and do things the old fashioned way.
Gretchen, if truth be made clear, most consumers of this product have the same results as your friend, if even this kind of success. The miraculous, “melted away the fat” testimonies are all from sellers of Plexus Slim and testimonies always include the ambassador’s webpage for purchase of this product. $60.00 per pound? In my checkbook, this is NOT “at last, an affordable management product.” Ambassadors may be well advised to discuss the liability issue with their own, personal attorney.
you have to become an ambassador with plexus in order to share in commissions. it is basically a pyramid scheme covered up by a product (plexusslim) to make it legal. still they are breaking FTC rules by focusing on adding people more than selling product.
70% rule states 70% of the product you buy as a distributor has to be sold to someone not affiliated with the company. go to a meeting and just see where the main focus is. Here’s one for you! i was told that their BREAST CREAM was good for my Rosacea. please don’t laugh too hard. lol
joe, the company will tell you not to break the rules, but you go to a meeting there are all kinds of illegal claims. the company knows this happening. i was told i could not be held liable for claims made. come find out, you and the company can be liable. if companies selling supplements were controlled by the FDA and not the FTC the company would be in a lot of trouble, making claims without proper clinical data. The hammer will start to come down soon.
Pete, thanks for the low down on whats going on!
Joe
a few other “miracle claims” the plexusslim ambassadors make:
1. good for treating LUPUS.
2. i was told to put the BREAST CREAM on my face and it would help with my rochasea.
3. after a customer called an ambassador and told her she thought she was having an allergic reaction to the PS, maybe the shingles, the ambassador told her to continue using for 7 days. WOW!!! we all know how dangerous this can be,
Joe, every one of these statements were heard with my own ears. with my experience in pharmaceuticals, i thought i was dreaming.
Gretchen
be sure to read joe’s information on the “Accelerator” it could be dangerous. do your research on DMAA.
Pete, thats amazing. It sounds like Plexus Slim is dropping the ball with Ambassador training if thats the case. They should definitely not be saying stuff like that!
joe
just to let you know there is basically no training for the ambassadors other than attending these meetings talking about testimonials, etc. nothing is really mentioned about rules and regulations from the FTC. and, you actually BUY the title for $199.99 plus a yearly fee of $34.00. you do get product for the $199.00. this is just so they can get around not been considered a pyramid. joe, like you, i have done extensive research on plexusslim and also MLM. unless you have any questions, think I’ll put it to rest. lol that’s what you get for writing such an interesting and resourceful article. i thank you for that!!!!
Pete thanks or the heads up on the Ambassitors buying the title of ambassador for $199. I was not aware of that. I appreciate you going to the Plexus Slim meetings and filling me in on this!
I was told by an ambassador that you can continue using this pink drink for the rest of your life after I made the following statement: Most people with weight problems must find a way to control their weight with healthy eating habits and exercise. I said Plexis Slim is just a short-term solution for a life-long problem.
Pete, you stated you will now put it to rest. Then I will, too. But one more before I put it to rest. The ambassadors chastise posters saying leaders are NOT claiming the exaggerated claims. If you will do a you-tube search on Plexus Slim, you will find meeting leaders claiming Dr. Spencer’s cream cures: shingles, poison ivy, poison oak, scars, warts, molds and diaper rashes, along with easing cysts.
An ambassador testifies that she lost 50 pounds from May 2010 to August 2011. Even at only $100.00 per month for product, that is $30.00 per pound. Add the accelerator and bio cleanse and price per pound loss is about $50.00 per pound. That is NOT an affordable weight loss product.
Hundreds of these products come and go, but this one is most disturbing because of the claims. I do hope consumers research before purchasing any miraculous get skinny quick products. I would have love to keep a girly figure without the daily exercise regime and staying away from chocolate chip cookies. I have to do it the hard way–work at it.
Paula, that happens a lot with some products, to keep people in the system for as long as they can. It really is the “holy grail” of supplement companies (and drug companies too!) to find a product that people take daily – like a multivitamin – for the rest of their life. That’s just a side effect of capitalism, and its fine, but like what you were getting at, there has to be a real change in peoples lives and not relying on a crutch like a weight loss product.
Paula
to be honest i don’t remember where i read this info., maybe on the packaging. but, it stated plexus slim is not for long-trem weight loss. just another unsubstantiated claim by one of these ambassadors. you are right on. thank you for the post.
elaine
where are these posters, i am an ambassador doing research and i have never seen a poster of this sort. these claims are still being made. just go to meeting and ask around. you may ask why i am so involved in this. simply, it amuses me lol i had posters made to use at meetings, nothing about this.
we talk a lot about ps. based on my research they are also bending a lot of FTC guidelines. one of those is this. based on the AMWAY case in 1979. the FTC stated to be considered a legal MLM company, your main focus has to be on selling product, not recruitment of people. Go to a meeting, all is talked about is adding people. this is what pays the bills and the upline who make the big money. this is what makes plexus a pyramid scheme covered up by a product. take away adding people to take the place of those who drop out, and by marketing design, the pyramid will fall like stack of cards. think about it!
Pete, thanks for that info on the MLM guideline about recruiting people. I didn’t know that thanks!!
joe
hope you are doing well. a lady stated she has muscular sclerosis, and plexus slim is allowing her to live a more normal life. wow!!! i have an idea, why don’t we just do away with the FTC, Attorney General’s offices, and the FDA and just convince the FEDS to have everyone use plexusslim. joe, i said i was going to give it a rest, but this amuses me too much. lol if you want to read an interesting article on MLM, go to yahoo and search an article by robert fitzpatrick, “the ten lies of MLM”
Pete, thats amazing. I wont at all be suprised if the hammer falls on Plexus Slim soon because of claims like that. I think Ive heard of that MLM guy. Keep me posted if you come across any other crazy claims like that!
After being invited to a P.S. meeting, I did a Google search and found this site. These products are by the thousands, and are all worthless. No biggie, just don’t fall for the hype of effortless weight loss, and unlimited wealth, right. WRONG. It is most unfortunate people continually fall for these schemes. Over the past several years, I have been approached to join in the “explosive” {fill-in-the-blank-MLM company.} To this day, no-one I know who got sucked into these MLM scams are independently wealthy, cruising the Bahamas, living in a 10,000 SF home with a house load of servants or a chauffeur who drives them to airport in their Lexus to board their private jet to Europe. No, I am not exaggerating. I have been to these sort of meetings where videos of upper level shows these sort of lifestyles.
People, educate yourself. Ambassadors are not medically trained, licensed professionals. Anyone can purchase the ambassador level. Anyone can make claims. Someone posted that the product can be taken forever. Sure, suck someone into thinking they have to take the product forever, and you have a customer who will fatten your bank account for a lifetime. OK. So lets say you won’t take P.S. forever. Did you change your eating habits. If not, I don’t have to tell you. You will gain everything back and more. There ain’t no easy fix, folks.
Cassie
Great post. As you have probably read i joined Plexus just to keep myself updated with this scam. Thank you for being intelligent enough to figure this scam out. I also am thankful to Joe for this site. I got an email from PS asking everyone to continue promoting PS over the holidays to their family and friends. How low can you get? i wrote back and stated ” come on! It’s xmas, give it a break. Can we wait and start back conning our friends and families after the holidays.” of course i was deleted.
was the meeting you went to one in which admission was charged? this amuses me because the company is asking people to pay them to bring people to them to buy product, and to have some type of ridiculous training. in my opinion, they should be the other way around, they should be paying me. just another money making scheme, that stupid people fall for. and as you know, stupid is hard to fix.
After reading all of your post I had to comment. First, I am a product of Plexus Slim and an “ambassador”. Many of you are making remarks that are not accurate. We have testimonies of people getting healthier but we ALWAYS respond to ANY person to consult with their doctor first.
This is no miracle weight loss, nor do I promote it that way. I actually went to my GP before I even began taking the product. There are numerous people that have experienced great health benefits. Although not everyone is expected the same. We DO have training and I actually address your concerns with other ambassadors today. Yes, like any product some people may misuse information to “boost” their sales which is wrong and not apart of our company.
I would like to know the ambassadors websites you obtained this information from. First, all of our websites are the same as corporate so I am interested to know where these ambassadors are promoting these testimonials.
Elaine, we do used “could” help your breast become healthier. Please post where any of you got your information along with these ambassadors links. Thanks!
Do a key word search Plexus Slim reviews. You will find ambassadors posting these claims. What training have you gone thru? Training to sell or training to practice medicine? Which remarks posted here are not accurate. I consulted my P. A., a personal trainer, a physical therapists, and a PhD in the field of science. All said the same thing. These products do nothing for long term health management.
You addressed concerns with other ambassadors? Anyone in your group with a medical background? Ambassador levels are purchasable, training is a few hours; this does not qualify anyone to disburse medical claims. If your product is 100% safe, as claimed, then why the disclaimer to take at your own risk.
Brandi
meaning no disrespect you are the one misinformed. i don’t know abut the breast cream, it may be great for what it was designed to do. but, come on! treating rochaea, correcting vision, etc. i experience the rochacea incident personally from one of your top ambassadors.
i joind Plexus just to do research, i have attended many meetings heard the most ridiculous claims. almost, laughable. you may have the best product in the world, but if it is how come it is not sold through normal channels of marketing. lot of reason , but the main one is that because of competition PS could not charge the ridiculous prices.
Forget the product, waste your money as you wish. the main issue here is how people can be deceived and given false hopes due to Plexusslim being a front to a MLM pyramid scheme. there is a lot to this, so, i know you want do this because when and if you do, should have a hard time looking yourself in the mirror, Yahoo. “The Ten Big Lies to MLM”.
Brandi, i was an ambassador also, and i did 4 months on analyzing MLM and PS. you are being taken for a ride, and the sad thing is you don’t even know. like my dad use to say “stupid is hard to fix”.. and i know for a fact people are starting to catch on and are stopping their autoship. company nor those so intelligent ambassadors are going to tell you that. the company will tell you lots of money is being made, and don’t even know how it is generated. you would be surprised. if you ever want to know i have the answer.
Elaine
thank you for backing me up. doubt if we will hear back fro brandi. remember they can’t stand intelligent people who think on their own. they have to have these people at the top thinking for them. they call it being negative, which is what they are programed to say from these meetings, part of what brandi calls training. i made a statement once that i was going to give this a rest, each day i hear something so amusing i have to respond. if i hear anything else i will post, if they don’t fire me!! lol
Happy New Year. I watched the ball come down in Times Square. Always exciting. This morning, the weight loss products were on most every infomercial. I am with you. Nothing off my bottom line if folks want to spend their money on these products. For me, I will continue the life-long health management path I established when I was in college, healthy eating, zero fast food, health club exercise programs. And not to sound offensive or crude, but I have seen before and after pictures. The PS testimonies are either highly exaggerated or the sellers are highly obese. OK, this will be my last post. Ambassadors are welcome to discredit me. Nothing more I will say on this. Have a great year.
elaine, congrats on your trip!!!
like you, i truly will give it a rest unless challenged by someone from PS. i will be joining a club this week and do more than just walk like i have been. i have been divorced for 8 yrs, it’s time to look my best for someone. lol
by the way, i will be headed to las vegas, then to the rose bowl in pasadena, calf. before beginning my serious workout campaign. take care!!!!!
i wish everyone at PS the best!!!
Pete
I am a Plexus Slim User – not an ambassador. My Ambassador NEVER told me false claims. I called the 800 number and was told that Plexus Slim has a 90% success rate and a 60 day money back guarantee. I am trying this because I am having a difficult time losing weight. I have scar tissue on my ankle and cannot do high impact exercising that is needed for weight loss (running, aerobics, long walking, etc).
I have been using this for about a week and a half. I woke up today and noticed that for the past few days my ankle hasn’t hurt at all. I don’t know why. I have had this problem for over 6 months now. Is it Pelxus Slim? That is the only thing I have changed. How could a little drink make such a huge change? I have no idea but I am not going to question it.
I NEVER even once thought this would be something that would happen. How great would it be if I could start being more active and lose the 30 pounds I want to lose? Elaine, you keep saying “this Ambassador, this website” but are unable to give documented sites where you are finding this information. I am drinking the drink and am feeling the results. Pete, I too have been divorced for several years and am ready to get back in the shape I was in before. I wish you the best of luck.
Gena, you sound like a very nice person, i am truly glad about your ankle, but until I see clinical data, I have a very hatd timr believing it was the PS that caused the improvement. But, if it works for you that’s all that matters. Who ever told you PS worked on 90% of the people is deviating from the truth, where is the proof. Gena, i was in pharmaceuticals sales for many years, and sold some of the top products in the world with 15-20 yrs of clinical data to back them. not one had a success rate of close to 90%. mlm marketing companies should be, but are not held accountable for the claims they make. it is a method of deceiving the people as long as they can, to drain you of as much money as they can before the FTC does catch on.
in my opinion, the people at PS really believe the “junk” they are saying about the “junk” they are selling!!! but, it doesn’t make it any less “junk”. this is just one more claim i can add to about 30 others i have personally witness. Wow!! MUST BE A MIRACLE!!!!!!
A couple of my friends have started on this drink, and I am very curious about it… I just turned 26 last month. I started Weight Watchers back in July and so far I have lost 26 pounds on it. I have changed my eating habits and I’m walking/jogging every day. I still would like to loose another 17 pounds.
I saw that my friends had been posting about it on Facebook, so I started to look into it. Even though it seems to work, I don’t think that loosing that much weight in such a short amount of time can be good for you. And I highly doubt that if you stop taking the drink that you will stay at the weight you are.
If it seems too good to be true, it usually is!
Bonnie, just my 2 cents but I’d say since you have already lost 26 pounds with weight watchers, Id stick with that since its working for you. 26 pounds is fantastic! Happy B day also
Bonnie: Congratulations on your fantastic weight loss. I am a life-time member of the Weight Watchers program, a proven program which has endured the test of time. The supermarket shelves are filled with lose weight quick products, none are effective, and none will aid in life-long weight management skills. For professional advise, you might want to check with your WW program director and/or your local physician. I can only relay my method of keeping healthy, and that method has been Weight Watchers, the gym, and healthy eating habits.
Gena: I never said the claims were on ambassadors websites. Please re-read my post. I will no longer discuss Plexus Slim. I have stated my objection to these type of products, and my objection stands firm. You and anyone else are free to consume whatever you want. Best to you in your weight management choices.
Bonnie
i agree with Joe and Elaine. Seems like you are doing great with a proven program, why change to something that has not really been proven. Happy Birthday!!!
Pete
I’m pretty sure, that if you hate Plexus Slim so much, you should just leave the company alone and go find something better to do with your time than posting on a site like this that barely anyone is going to see, or even really care about. Those of you dogging this product just look lame and insecure . Go do something better with your time. Nobody cares how smart you are. Because basically, you look like a fool. Just saying. Nobody really cares. And if something works for them, let them use it, and go doing something else with your time.
I do not sell plexus slim but I would like to correct a previous post. You do receive product for the 199.00 fee. This is not a fee to just sign up. This is for product and the website fee is additional.
Pam, just my 2 cents about when you said ” a site like this that barely anyone is going to see.” I did a quick google search today -and had others from my FB page do it too – for “Plexus Slim Review” and my review shows up as #3 or #4 on Google’s first page. Take it for what its worth.
Pam,
You are just as uninformed about Joe’s site as you are about the “junk” you THINK you believe in. This site is one of the top sites on Google. This site let’s people give their opinions, no matter what the subject is. I have actually tried to express my opinion on PS sights only to be deleted. does this tell you anything! Ps people have their people brainwashed and do not welcome free thinkers. Free thinkers threaten anybody in MLM. I don’t know what your goal is but if it is to succeed in MLM, listen very carefully. Based on the research of people a lot smarter than me, and certainly smarter than you, MLM WILL FAIL 99% OF THE TIME. This due to simple marketing design which i have 33 yrs. experience.
As far as that ‘junk” you are selling, anybody in their right minds knows their is no miracle to weight loss. Pretty simple though, you eat right, you exercise. as soon as people like you realize this the money quits flowing in, and the company falls like a stack of cards. sounds familiar, it should, if you know what a pyramid scheme is.
by the way, joined PS for the research i am doing on MLM. the things i heard amused me so much, i have to stick around. i have all the info. i need and have cancelled my autoship. i understand a lot of people are doing this. you ever thought about why they have these ridiculous meetings. you are being taken to the cleaners and don’t even know. and yes, i am confident that i am more educated and smarter than you. ENJOY WASTING YOUR MONEY. PLEASE DON’T ATTACK JOE. JOE RUNS A REPLICABLE SITE, UNLIKE THE BIASED SITE AT PS.
thinking about joining again so i can continue to be amused!!
patty
i would like to clear something up for you. you are right PS does give you product for the $199.99. By FTC regulations, if no product was involved, the company would be classifying itself as a pyramid. This is how PS and other MLM companies gets around this. PS is no more than a pyramid scheme covered up by a product. this info is based on the amway law case of 1979. look it up.
Yes, I said I would quit discussion on this product. However, I will reply to misinformed, robot-thinker’s post.
Pam: The forum owner posted at the end of his review, “What do you think.” Discussions were civil, not hostile. Your post is filled with hostility. WHY? Are you a seller? Someone posts their opposition, and you label that poster lame, insecure and foolish. 33 years in marketing is far from lame. Nor is my MBA from a well known, prestigious university. Oh but wait, nobody cares how smart I am!
A “site like this” is listed second under IXQuick search engine. Joe posted intelligent research on Plexus Slim. What research can you offer. Here is a site you might want to review: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/skinny-on-diet-scams?page=3 For my health care, medically licensed physicians takes precedence over ambassador’s meeting room training.
Elaine
Well said!!! I only wish I could express myself like you do.
When you call the “bluff” on the so called “AMBASSADORS”, whom we know buys this title, you never hear back from them. If he has the money, a one-eyed monkey could become an “ambassador’. Those that are intelligent will win the debate every time.
You guys have entirely too much time on your hands. I have nothing to do with this company, came across this by chance. But due to your somewhat hilarious bickering, I’m going to give this product a shot. Thanks! Enjoy your chatting!
Pam, I wouldn’t say that. I think this is a very logical and civil discussion, definitely not bickering. This is how we all learn, by taking to each other. Regardless, good luck and if you do try it I hope it works for you.
Pam
If you call helping colleagues to write a book by gathering knowledge on MLM a waste of time, so be it. I guarantee I’ll will get paid more than you ever will selling that “junk”.
Every word I put on this site is based on research. If you would just take the time to put MLM into your search engine, maybe there would be a debate. This is what this site is all about, not personally attacking people. You may not agree with me on MLM, but at least it will be intellectual.
Honestly,I hope you do try this product, and see for yourself. Give one of these “ambassadors” your money, they love it!! Matter of fact I’ll give you advice on losing weight, and it won’t cost you $84.00. Get off your big “butt” eat right and walk a little. That will be $.05 please!!lol
Pam
Like Joe, I welcome you to try PS. if it works great. My issue is MLM. Before getting involved in MLM check it out. You may find it’s the right move for you, but the numbers, and in my business numbers never lie, are against you. Not having the knowledge, can cost you a lot of money that is being put in other people’s pockets. I rest my case, and good luck to you.
Also, Pete, I’m pretty sure you meant to use the word “reputable” instead of REPLICABLE (which means to reproduce) concerning Joe’s site. Not to get in the way of your intelligence or anything… I just wanted to point that out. Joe, I mean no disrespect to you. This really is a great site. And yes, I have already ordered my first shipment of this product due to this site. Just gonna test it out for myself!
no disrespect taken Pam.
pam
you are exactly right, and i thank you for correcting me. like joe said, we all should learn on this site. i stand corrected, but also know it was ‘sarcastic”! opps, did i get that correct!! enjoy your PS, and hope it works for you.
I find this all very interesting and it’s made me think a bit. I have been on PS for a bit over a month and I HAVE benefited from it. I am down 29 pounds, plus inches off of my waist, hips and thighs. I also do suffer from arthritis and it has helped substantially.
I did do a bit of research after reading this and all the posts and I will say about the cyst thing that I didn’t see anything anywhere that PS claims it get’s rid of cysts. I think that “ambassador” is full of “wind”. I don’t use that but I was thinking of trying it.
I think PS is a great product (works like herbalife in a sense) and can do a world of good for people.
With that said I think some of the “ambassadors” are so desperate to sell product they will say anything to get you to buy. The woman I buy from is super honest with me so far. My husband wanted to take PS because he has high blood pressure and she told him NOT to take the accelerator until his pressure was under control. She seems to always have our best interest in mind, for that I am thankful.
I see the concern and I am open-minded enough to research myself. If I find anything more I will definitely post here, but i will continue using until I find more that say it’s harmful. If you would like me to put in contact with the woman that sells to me I would be more than happy to. She is very open and honest and I’m sure she will answer any questions you have. I know if she doesn’t know something or isn’t sure she always asks the right people the right questions.
Thank you for the great article and blessings to all!
Tianna
Tianna, thanks for saying all that and its good to know your PS ambassador seems to know when a product is right for somebody. Feel free to pass this site along to your PS ambassador.
Tianna
I enjoyed reading your post, and I applaud your “ambassador” for being up front with you, and your husband. Good to know you have someone to trust.
Tianna: It is nice to know there are those sellers operating out of truth. While I am not interested in contacting your ambassador, I appreciate your well-written & polite response. Best to you on your weight management.
I took Plexus Slim and the first few days I was so scared I was having a heart attack. I was dizzy and shaky and almost passed out. I have NEVER fainted in my life but was very close. My heart was racing and I was terrified. I contacted the “ambassador” who said that was normal and to continue taking it! UM WHAT?!
I lost a lot of weight in the week I took it, 10 pounds to be exact but I also did a lot of training at the gym so not sure if it is a weight loss aid or not and am too scared to find out.
Marcy, I hope you never go back to that “ambassador” again.
Thank you all for the kind words! As with anything there are always those that are honest and really want to help.
Marcy I am DISGUSTED that your “ambassador” said that to you. Like you on the first day I felt that same way and my “ambassador” gave me solutions and what to do to tame the feelings I was having. She did warn me BEFORE I even took my first accelerator what might happen if I was sensitive to caffeine. I chose to take the whole one and wish I would have listened to her suggestions and gradually worked up to the whole one.
I do believe in this product and know it does help a lot of people. I do also believe it’s just not for some people either. If you have a good “ambassador” I think you have nothing to worry about. However, if you get one that is just out to make money and all about the bottom line your in trouble. I know there are a few of those out there and it’s too bad.
Joe, I will pass this site along to her. If any of you would like to ask her questions please let me know and I can pass along her information to you.
RE: Marcy’s Post: This is just one of the reasons the distribution of products thru MLM is not good for consumers. There are no regulations, no-one is responsible, anything goes. Had you taken an over-the-counter product sold in stores and had this reaction, there could be accountability. (Tylenol Acetaminophen Liver Failure Lawsuits) Who is accountable for PS health issues? The ambassador’s websites state, “If you are using any of the content/products provided here, you are using that at your own risk.” Why the disclaimer for a product that is marketed and sold as 100% safe & natural?
Marcy
Sorry to hear about your experience with Plexus Slim. If you would go back and read Joe’s analysis of Plexus Slim, and especially the Accelerator it should answer your question. DID YOU TAKE THE ACCELERATOR?
Read the post by Tianna, and that shows there are some honest “ambassadors” You have to understand who these people really are and why they are say the incredible things they say just to make a dollar. They are uneducated and know nothing about the science or physiology of weight loss.
By that person telling you to continue using a product that obviously was harming you is just plain unacceptable. Remember how PS promotes this product, ALL NATURAL, AND NO SIDE EFFECTS. I believe you know the truth now. Please tell your friends about Joe’s site. Joe has never said anything negative about a product unless based on data. As Joe recommends, always check with your doctor.
Hope you feel better!
Pete
Tianna
As you have read in some of my post I am a former “ambassador”. One point your “ambassador” is not telling you, and it probably is not intentional, but there is an ingredient in the Accelerator that is also a stimulant. Check out Geranax. The word itself has no scientific meaning, but is the same as a chemical called DMAA. The company never talks about it. Do a search on DMAA and you will understand why. It’s kind of scary. This is a tactic that gives MLM a bad name. They say they recommend checking with your health care provider before taking the Accelerator, how many people really do. I really doubt if many doctors even know what Geranax is. See the deception!
Pete,
She actually did tell me about it and it’s posted in her FAQ section of the website she created. She said that if I was asked to take a drug test that it may or may not come back positive, but that if a blood test was done it would show that it is not in fact a drug.
I understand your concern and dislike for this product. I can see where you would think what you do. I am just a believer in this product because of what it’s done for me and my husband. The fact is you take a chance with everything you do and/or take, sure there is accountability with a lot of it, but what about the trial drugs and what not. They state before trials are done that you are taking and doing this at your own risk.
I know I am not going to change your mind and I am not trying to. I am simply trying to show you that not everything is bad and there are risks with everything you do. I’m not an expert and I do rely off of my “ambassador” to provide me with honest and accurate information, and I feel to this point she has.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
I have used this product for 7 days and in the 7 days I lost 5lbs. I believe it is over rated for the price u pay. The only thing it did for me was make me very thirsty for water which in turn was the cause of my 5lb wt lose. I believe the only true way to lose wt is to eat healthy, exercise and burn more calories than u are putting in.
Hello,
I am a nurse who was approached by a co-worker about this product. She told me it was all natural. I decided to try the product after she told me her mother was losing one pound per day.
I have a history of high blood pressure and am on medication for it. While I was weary of trying it, she brought me a free sample. Today was my first try with this. And it will be my last. I felt so hyper that I figured it was going to affect my blood pressure. I went home and checked my blood pressure tonight and sure enough, my bottom number had increased by 30 points! I was hoping for a slight increase, if any!
That is a danger zone for people with heart and blood pressure problems. You run the risk of either a cardiac issue, or a stroke. After reading this, it was probably due to the accelerator, but I won’t take anymore chances. I hope someone finds this useful.
I think I will just stick to Weight Watchers, where I have already lost a good amount of weight, safely.
Kim, thanks for relaying your experiences and glad you are OK!
Pete: I apologize for entering this so late in the game, but I was recently asked about this product, so did some research, and stumbled across this website. Great discussion. I wanted to add a few pieces of information that many of you may already know, but may help some people make informed decisions. Grape Skin is also known as Resveratrol, and is a diet supplement that has shown some promise for several healthful effects. However, it is both estrogen agonist and antagonist, and testosterone enhancer. It promotes muscle growth, enhances both testosterone and some estrogen responses, but blocks estrogen receptors, which may render some oral contraceptives ineffective, and have some other unfortunate side effects for women (more studies needed).
The numerous sweeteners in this product are low-glycemic sugars or sweeteners, and have some good effects, in that they do not raise the blood sugar levels, so do not increase insulin. However, they also desensitize the body to sweeteners, and may increase cravings for sweets. They also can inhibit the body’s natural reaction to sugars, so that the person no longer gets that “sickly feeling” when they eat an abundance of sugar. Anyone who has heart problems, or blood pressure problems should know that several ingredients may interfere with their medications, elevate heart rates, and both elevate and lower blood pressure erratically. Again, great discussion. Good luck with your goals.
Joe
before i write anything just want to make sure you are receiving my post.
pete
Pete, yes I did receive it
Nancy, interesting. Do you have any studies on resveratrol and muscle growth? I’d be interested in seeing those.
Nancy
Don’t know what your background is, but one of the most informative and intelligent post i have read on this site about Plexus Slim. (except maybe Joe’s)
Pete
I found the discussion in the comments as helpful as the original post. My FB feed has at least two Plexxus “ambassadors” who are driving me CRAZY. First, I cannot STAND to read “lose weight without changing your diet or exercising” because it is a complete lie. ALWAYS. Second, I’ve noticed on more than one of the before and after testimonial photos that the after photo is distorted…as a photo looks when the photo is re-sized and the aspect ratio is not protected. How stupid do I look, really?
Also, one of these “ambassadors” plagiarized a portion of the book “Made to Crave” a few weeks ago, twisting the end of the quotation to give Plexxus Slim the credit for her recent weight loss. I do see a couple of people it has worked for and I am not sure why, reading here and reading the ingredients. The only thing I can think is that it is a daily reminder that you are trying to lose weight and therefore people are more conscious of what they are eating and their activity level. And yes, having evaluated and re-evaluated it many times, it is TOO EXPENSIVE for something that is not a meal replacement. Plexxus is not for me. I will stick with good old hard work, diet and exercise.
Charlotte
Read the other day that one of these ambassadors stated she lost 30 lbs in 30 days. This sounds good and all these uneducated people will be all excited not even thinking about the harm to their bodies. Healthcare Professionals recommend no more than 2 and 1/2 pounds per week. The pictures showing all these testimonials are mostly fraud, and the FTC will start to look at them more closely. They will have to be proven with no shadow of a doubt. Sorry. testimonials are frauds just like MLM.
Testimonials have no clinical data backing them at all. For as we know, they got payed off, which happens all the time in MLM. It’s all a show by deception.
Charlotte
Nice post. I guess you go to these ‘Ambassador” meetings. Has it ever entered your mind, why you and your guest should have to PAY to attend these meetings. You are coming with recruits to buy products, and get some type of training which is basically just a ‘RAH,RAH” session.THEY SHOULD BE PAYING YOU!!!!.. This is one of the first “red flags’ that that should go up against the company.
I have known people ending up thousands of dollars in credit card debt chasing a dream that will fail 99% of the time. I saw 21 meetings on their lists, with people paying $35 to $99 to company and company making pretty good amount of money. If company is not selling at least 70% of their product to the general public, that should be another RED FLAG. More deception.
I just would like to say that I have been on a three day trial of Plexus Slim and I do find since the three days I have taken this product, I have lost three pounds and also feel much better energy wise. I am not into selling this product as a business but I do know that several people in my family have taken this product and are completely off of diabetic medication and high blood pressure medication. To me, this is incredible…I am not saying results are likely for everyone and they have changed their diets and started exercising…things they couldn’t do before…Just wanted to share that testimony…
Rai, Im glad your friends are getting healthier. There are many roads to weight loss and as long as they have not had any problems with the product I am glad. Did your friends lose weight while taking plexus slim? if yes, then its likely that it was the weight loss that caused them to get off their diabetes and blood pressure medications. Weight loss is very well known to do both of these in many people. Again, the big thing is that they are healthier now and thats whats important. Here is something I wrote on type II diabetes for more info http://www.joe-cannon.com/can-type-ii-diabetes-be-cured/
Rai
Good for you! But, if you will read Nancy’s post it will explain to you what is really transpiring with PS. Basically, you took PS for three days, you loss probably nothing but fluid, and you think this is a miracle. You lose weight in any way, your blood pressure gets better, and your sugar regulated. Your body is 70% water, and in any diet program, you lose water first.
A person may carry anywhere from 5-7 lbs of fluid per day, depending on the individual. Most of the people I have observed at meetings that gave testimonies of losing substantial weight (50-60 lbs.) were still grossly over-weight. Based on my experience, I hoped your relatives did not come off their meds without consulting their doctors.
Rai, meaning no disrespect, but testimonies without clinical data means absolutely nothing. I can testify to you that I am a millionaire, but I’m not. I have been around enough of them to know how they act, how they dress, even how they spend their money, and I am a good enough salesman to make you believe. But, it would all be a “forest”.
MLM companies live off of “testimonies”. I wouldn’t throw my meds away just, but I do wish you luck in obtaining true weight loss, and keeping it off. EXERCISE AND DIET will save you a lot of money. I apology if I offended you in any way, but Joe let’s us speak our mind on this site, that’s what makes it so interesting.
Unreal. Does anyone on earth look at the ingredients before ingesting products? Paint thinner has more natural sounding ingredients!
“Don’t fall for gimmicks. The only tried-and-true method to lose 10 pounds in 48 hours is food poisoning.”- Jason Gay
There are zero shortcuts. Just exercise. Stop being lazy.
May I join in on the controversy. $60.00 per weight loss pound! To whom is this affordable? Here is just one article on MLM truths: http://www.mlmtruth.info/why.html. If your product is so miraculous, why is it not being sold in the super chain stores. As stated in the article, “To anyone with education or experience in clear thinking and rhetoric, these claims – and the arguments that support them – lack any rational foundation. They can never work.”
My aunt started selling this stuff about 6 months or so ago. Every day, her Facebook page is filled with posts of her beating us all over the heads with how great it supposedly is. I decided today to do the research and see what non-Plexus-Cult Members have to say about it. (Doesn’t it seem like a cult the way these “Ambassadors” go on about this stuff?) And I found this page (Number 2 in my search!!)
Below, I have copied some of the claims she has posted on her facebook that I find hard to believe and/or have found no proof of:
“Plexus was developed by two doctors who were trying to help people balance their blood sugars.”
“…This product was created for DIABETICS…”
“Are you tired of being a diabetic? having fibromyalgia? high blood pressure? or just being over weight? Time to try these AMAZING, ALL- natural products from Plexus Worldwide. Inbox me for more info.”
“I’ve lost 25 lbs. in 4 months, and several inches, and all this with little or no exercise. I no longer have migraines, take blood pressure meds or have issues with my fibromyalgia. My husband is seeing positive results with his blood sugars decreasing, so hopefully he won’t have to go on insulin”
I wonder how much of the “Relief” these people are feeling is from their weight loss. Of course, losing a few pounds can help your joints and bones not hurt as much because they aren’t meant to carry heavy loads for long periods of time. Blood sugar is likely to be more under control by a weight loss as well. Because you are most likely eating less which means your body is producing less sugar to process the food you are eating…
“lady who is only 43 years old; has had 9 heart attacks, 27 stints, is a Type 1 Diabetic. she went from 23 heart meds to 5 heart meds, and her endocrinologist is now wanting to remove her from her insulin pump and she has lost 40 pounds — ALL SINCE JULY!!!! She is doing all of this by drinking one Plexus Slim a day!!!!”
Seriously? This just sounds made up. Has anyone else heard this type of claim?
“These products REALLY work, do NOT counter react any meds, and are an EXCELLENT product for diabetics, and people who are suffering from high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, migraines, high cholesterol, and much more. These products have been rated the #1 weightloss products in the US, and five other countries. The business is FAST growing, so if you want a part time job, or even need a job, check out this business.”
This one is a favorite of hers to post often. I agree that the training for this is lacking in many areas. Thank you for doing the research and alerting people about this company and this product. I hope that the quotes from a real ambassador will help others see that this product is NOT anything more than a means to your bank account. It stinks to wake up early and go to the gym or to eat a salad when you really want a burger, but that is the price you pay to be healthy.
Trina, thanks for sharing and for letting me know I show up as #2 on Google
Trina
Excellent post. If you understood MLM, you can clearly see why these so called “Ambassadors” perform as they do. Your post was great, and I was actually smiling as I read it. People like you are catching on, and soon the product and company will sink. Your post fits right in with about 5 months of research I have done on MLM. RIGHT ON,TRINA!!!!
Joe,
You are a lot smarter than me, but I was wondering if you could do research on MLM, and offer your views, as you have on PS and other products. Bet it would start a lot of good conversations. You may have already done this. Pete
Trina: Yes, I have heard these claims. Is your aunt aware of the laws governing seller’s product claims. http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus28-advertising-and-marketing-internet-rules-road Your aunt is probably a nice person who, like thousands of others, desires a better financial life. Nothing wrong with that. But history shows most MLM programs collapse.
Joe, thanks for your research and information. BTW: My lunch was a chefs salad with low fat ranch. Gosh, geez, if I had only drank the pink stuff, I could have had a shrimp po-boy, french fries, topped it off with a fried pie and not gained any weight. Silly me.
Trina
Want to refer you and other people to Plexus Slim on youtube. The only truth your aunt was telling you is that Maybe PS effects diabetes. Still, no sufficient clinical evidence. That piece of evidence they do show in some advertisements does not hold water based on my 33 yrs of science and marketing experience. All the other claims she is making are false, with no clinical data to back them.
This is against FTC regulations, and I would warn her to be careful, you never know who may be lurking behind the corner. Oh, by the way to my knowledge, two doctors did not discover PS. As you can hear on the video, it was a guy named Dave Brown. They did not address him as Dave Brown, PHD., or Dave Brown, M.D. In my opinion, he’s just some Joe Blow off the streets, who probably made the product in his garage. Look at the ingredients, it would be easy to do with no regulations from the FDA.
Hey Pete, I think when it comes to MLM you are a lot smarter than I am with all the research you do!
What is your product????
Leo, not sure who you are referring to.
Thanks, Joe, Pete, and Susan.
I am going to share this information with her. I just hope she isn’t too brainwashed by the meetings to listen.
Trina
Being an “Ambassador” at one time, you are probably going to hear this. “You are just negative!” They are programed to say this. My response was always, “no, I’m not negative, I am a free thinker, and based on my research MLM people are threatened by free thinkers”.
I was almost thrown out of meetings because of asking questions they either could not answer, or would not answer. Remember Trina, there are some good MLM companies out there and do business the right way. Very few, that’s why most are fly by night.
Pete, amazing how they almost tossed you out of meetings for asking questions. maybe you should start your own MLM website to help educate others.
Joe
Great idea!!! But, I enjoy yours so much. I could never reach #2. I have a lot of knowledge because of some of the people I have been working with, but I basically just do the investigation, they put it in word form, if that makes any since. I have worked with PHD’s in marketing from Centenary, Yale, and Boston College, all with 10-15 years of marketing experience.
Pete
Pete, just write and the people will find you. Thats’ what I do. Google likes good and unique information which you definitely have.
Thanks Joe
i really have so much to say, but it would take forever to write. Just in case you have wondered why I am so passionate about this, is I have had so many friends and relatives to get burned on MLM by not doing their research before joining and determining if it is legitimate, or not. As I have stated before, there are legitimate ones out there, you just have to find them, and ask the right questions.
Some of my friends and relatives are so far in credit card debt, etc. their lives are ruined. I have seen people go to these conventions in which they have to pay for and spend thousands of dollars, being told don’t worry about it you will make it all back and then some. Never knew anyone to do it yet. If I can get one person to pay attention, I feel I have accomplished what I set out to do. I really do thank you for this site!!!
Pete
Pete, thanks I appreciate you saying all that.
Dear Joe,
I have been taking Plexus Slim for 3 weeks and it has changed my life. I found your blog by accident looking for answers to understand why I feel so good from this product.
I have Fibromyalgia and have been struggling for 7 years to find a way to function normally and handle my high pressure job. I have severe fatigue, brain fog, low blood sugar mood swings and muscle aches. Every holistic approach I have tried: massage, meditation, vitamins etc. Serendipitiously I found Plexus Slim because I had been exercising and hit a weight plateau. A friend told me that she and others had amazing results with the product so I tried it.
The first day I tried it I noticed life was going to be different for me. I could think clearly, I was calm and blood sugar stable! My aches were hardly there and I was sleeping well at night! The accelerator made me nervous the first two days but after that the feeling went away. I am not very overweight to begin with but in 3 weeks I lost 7 lbs after having been in a plateau for months. The inches I have lost are far less than the weight gain and I haven’t lost weight in areas like my chest where I don’t want to lose weight
I think your posts are a bit irresponsible. You are criticizing the Plexus Slim company AND PRODUCT for being MLM. The product could change lives in many people and your comments are not fair. I am not in agreement for HOW this product is sold but I am a huge advocate of the product. I am not an “Ambassador” in their program but I am trying to find a way to tell millions of Fibromyalgia sufferers that this product could change their lives.
Do me a favor and others..be more responsible for your words. If there are no clinical results you respect….talk to people to find out the results this product can do. There is a reason vitamins aren’t regulated by the FDA…..people like me like it that way because the medical establishment isn’t helping people like me. Besides I have a baby and read articles about all the unsafe baby products the FDA has approved…… Try Plexuslim, I’m not an Ambassador, I’m an Advocate

One correction to my last submission….I have lost MORE inches in addition to the 7 lbs. Normally at the weight I am, I’d be a bit bigger in measurements. My stomach, thighs and buttocks are smaller now but my chest is the same size! Yah!
