Hokkaido Weight Loss Pills Fact of Fiction?

by Joe Cannon on June 24, 2011

Japanese Hokkaido Weight Loss Pills are another in a long line of weight loss supplement from Japan, China, Vietnam etc. aimed predominately at Americans. I admit I’ve never heard of these pills until it was brought to my attention by one of the readers of my blog. At various websites these pills are said to be “in high demand” and when I checked Ebay I saw some people selling them for over $60! Do these slimming pills work? Let’s see what the research says.

Hokkaido Pills Ingredients:

  • Dill Extract
  • Chinese rose extract
  • Trumpet Creeper extract
  • Evening primrose extract
  • Lotus

Is there any evidence that these ingredients help people lose weight? Let’s look at the research and see:

Dill extract. They don’t tell you what “extract” they are talking about but when I searched for weight loss research on dill, I found nothing. Dill does seem to have a diuretic effect so it may act like a natural water pill. I’m guessing that is why it’s in the ingredients.

Women who may be pregnant should avoid Hokkaido Weight Loss Pills. There is some speculation that dill may cause menstrual bleeding. I cannot find any research or case studies to substantiate this however but it is something to consider.

Chinese rose extract. Again, they do not tell us what specific extract they are talking about.  What is the scientific name of the Chinese rose they are using? If anyone knows, let me know and I will update this review.

Trumpet Creeper extract. If you search for research on Trumpet Creeper, online it can be a little difficult to find because its scientific name is Campsis radicans. Another name –albeit less scientific – is cow itch, which is a reference to how farm animals sometimes get a rash when they rub against it. This makes sense since the name “radicans” is the same classification as poison ivy (Rhus radicans).

That said, I could not locate any weight loss proof that Trumpet Creeper works. When I goggled Trumpet Creeper and weight loss, many sites that came up had to do with sites that sell weight loss pills and that was no help. I then checked the National Library of Medicine and also couldn’t find anything. One problem with my search is that we are not told what extract of Trumpet Creeper is in Hokkaido weight loss pills.

Evening primrose extract. This is also called GLA which stands for gamma-linolenic acid.  The lack of evening primrose weight loss research makes me very skeptical. One study from the 1980s found evening primrose oil did not help weight loss.

Because evening primrose oil effects blood clotting, people taking blood thinners should avoid this product. There is also some perplexing cancer research that hints that evening primrose oil might either reduce breast cancer growth or speed up breast cancer growth, depending on how much is used. Bottom line, if you have a history of cancer talk to your doctor first.

The product Abdominal Cuts also has evening primrose oil. See that review for more info.

Evening primrose oil is sometimes used for PMS symptoms –with mixed results. Like Dill, women who may be pregnant should not use evening primrose oil.

It may be very dangerous. If you have my book on supplements see the chapter on evening primrose oil for more on its other uses.

As for lotus, again there is no human weight loss research. I did locate one test tube study where lotus and L carnitine reduced fat buildup inside fat cells. This is interesting but it’s a study of fat cells in test tubes. You are MUCH more complex than a test tube.

You may recall that lotus is one of the ingredients in Zi Xiu Tang Bee Pollen weight loss supplements.

On one of the websites that sells Hokkaido Pills they spelled “primrose” wrong and there is broken English. Nobody is perfect but ingredient typos – and broken English on websites make me wonder about who put this websites together.

Do Hokkaido Weight Loss Pills work?

Based on the research I can find, I say no, this stuff cannot possibly work -  if these are the only these ingredients in the pills. If people are losing weight, I am interested in hearing about it.

What do you think?

I’ve been taking this pill since last June and I’ve lost around 20 pounds since then, I’m not sure since I didn’t know what my weight was back then..I just recently bought a bathroom scale so that I can keep track of my weight. All i know is that I couldn’t fit my size 36 jeans, even tight squeeze. But I’m guessing that I was around 85kg more or less back then and now I’m around 72.5 kg in the morning and 74 or 75 kg at midday to evening when I’ve already eaten lol. I haven’t really noticed any major side effect except LBM which I experienced for the first couple of weeks or so when I started taking them. I guess that’s my body trying to get used to the stuff. Apart from that, there’s nothing else i could think of.

I couldn’t say that I don’t feel hungry when I take the pills, I do get hungry. Like the seller described, whenever I feel hungry, I won’t feel it in my stomach, instead I get lightheaded at first till my head starts hurting more. When I still ignore that, that’s when I start to feel the hunger in my stomach. When I do eat, I only need a small portion of food before I start feeling full. I guess it regulated my appetite? It was my problem back then, I have a big appetite and I don’t exercise because I’m either too busy when the urge hits me or too lazy when I got the time.

I decided to try this pill because I saw a local seller pitching it and saying how effective it is with few other testimonies of her customers. They also had before and after pics so I got convinced…

Anyway, I couldn’t say for sure that the pills are the only things responsible for my weight loss. After I started taking this, I also stopped drinking soft-drinks and other artificial drinks in general. I went strictly-water-only (except some occasions) and I’ve increased my water consumption than what I take before I started taking this pill. I stopped eating fast-food take outs (again except for rare occasions). I also started weight lifting (first 3 pounds then 5 pounds when the 3 pounds got too light for me). I also started taking the stairs whenever I can instead of using the elevators and walking to school. Apart from those is the considerable loss of appetite I mentioned earlier.

So that’s it for my experience with this pill. I was planning to keep on using this till next year March (by then I might hopefully gotten my optimal healthy weight which is 62-63kg since I’m 5’5.5″ large-structured gal..still another 20 pounds or so to go) but after reading your review, I got scared. I mean…cancer. That’s not the kind of stuff you immediately feel until it’s too late and my family and I don’t have the habit to go and have regular check ups. But I’m also scared that if I abruptly stop using this after months, I might get withdrawal symptom. Is that possible? What should I do? Right now, I have a week’s worth of pills left.

By the way, have you heard of Pretty Model slimming pills? I’ve been thinking of switching to that but I’m not sure since the Hokkaido pills are already fine for me, but Pretty Slim Model is said to be more effective so again I’m becoming tempted.

Hoping for your response, thanks! =)

Joe October 14, 2011 at 7:21 pm

RJ, does Pretty Model slimming pills have an actual website? if yes what is it? I did a quick search but didn’t see anything but the pictures I saw for it look like its made in China. if thats the case, I dont trust them. If you find a website let me know.

joan October 16, 2011 at 9:19 am

i use that before i lost 6kg in 1 bottle , after 1 bottle i felt pain in my right waist then i go to the doctor test my urine and i have UTI then I tell the doctor about the pain I felt before then I had an Ultrasound test I have mild Problem of my kidney because of dehydration even though i drink lots of water I stopped taking that pills Im afraid to have a cancer of the kidney.

crissandra rodgers October 16, 2011 at 11:14 am

Joe, I also started taking these pills even though I said I wouldn’t. After the bottle was used and I didn’t see any weight loss, I did discover I was having pain in my right groin area. I went to the doctor on September 29th & was given a urine test to see if I had a UTI. I did not. I also had a CAT Scan which showed a small mass. It turned out to be a kidney stone. I am wondering if these pills have anything to do with this because I wasn’t using anything else, and I have never had one before. I’ve been given medicine to dissolve it,but in the future I will use common sense and never use them again!

Joe October 17, 2011 at 12:45 pm

Crissandra, sorry to hear about the kidney stone but glad you did get checked out by your doctor. Its hard to say what caused the kidney stone. It may have been coincidence or not. Hokkaido pills have never been tested in humans in clinical trials so Im at a loss for what what it does when it gets into our body. At least the meds will take care of the kidney stone and for that I’m a happy camper :)

RJ October 17, 2011 at 7:12 pm

Joe, I couldn’t find the official site for Pretty Model Slimming Pills which is pretty fishy. It seems to be rampant here in the Philippines as most of the sites I’ve searched are Filipino sellers’ ads of the pills.

I probably won’t give those a try anymore and after a few days of reflection with the Hokkaido Pills and reading some of the comments here, I realized that I also have another side effect that I’ve overlooked. I didn’t really notice it since I’ve always had it since I was in high school, but now that I think about it, it’s pretty weird that I still have UTI when I no longer eat junk foods and other stuff that generally cause UTI.

It should have already gotten at least slightly better what with me drinking almost 3 liters of water everyday. In fact, probably the reason why my UTI didn’t get worst to the point of feeling pain is because of the amount of water I drink every day. But I’m not gonna push my luck. I’m gonna stop using Hokkaido pills or any slimming pills for that matter.

I’ve already started skipping my remaining pills to every other day to get my body used to the absence of the pill. In any case, I’ve already lost weight and conditioned myself to eat healthier foods anyway so I think I should be fine.

Thank you for posting this fine review that opened my (and several others) eyes to the dangers of these kind of pills. Keep up the good work =)

Joe October 17, 2011 at 8:21 pm

RJ, I am very pleased to help. If you ever do find a website for Pretty Model Slimming Pills do let me know and Ill be glad to take a closer look at them.

kaih October 19, 2011 at 12:08 pm

I took hokkaido pill last 2009 and I was able to lose weight about 10-15 kilos I think. I then stopped since I already reached the weight I wanted. After reading your article, I then remembered that I kept on going back to my doctor with the same problem which is my UTI getting higher and some kidney problems. Maybe that’s the side effect. Thanks for the review. As of now, I’m taking slimina pills (I just started this week) and I would really like to see your review about this pill. (After a year of not taking hokkaido pills, I never felt any pain but I gained weight almost 2x).

Joe October 19, 2011 at 3:21 pm

Kaih, get with me in a few weeks and Ill see what I can about the Slimina pills. Im working on a Plexus Slim review now and after that an energy drink called FRS. Keep me posted :)

Dime111 October 20, 2011 at 9:08 pm

Joe,

I must say yes, these pills do slim you down. I’ve been taking them off and on for the last three years, and when I am not on them, I can feel the difference.

When taken regularly they act as a natural diuretic. After taking them for 5 days, I notice that my clothes definitely fit looser than the week before, and that’s without having to change my diet or exercise routine (which is mostly non-existent). I can only imagine how many more inches I would lose if I did change those routines in conjunction with the pills. During the time I am taking them, family members will ask if I’m losing weight, so the slimming is noticeable.

I have never experienced any negative side effects such as UTI’s as described by other posters here. The only thing is the LBM’s for me; Like it’s flushing all those toxins out of the body, but afterwards, I feel good. I’m sure it’s all a matter of preference for some people.

I’m almost running out of pills so will have to order another batch, which is why I said I take them off and on. They aren’t cheap, relatively speaking, and have to be shipped from outside the U.S. where I live. This is the only reason I say I take them off and on, but I would much rather be on all the time.

It doesn’t suppress your appetite, but I think it may jumpstart your metabolism since the effects are almost immediate.

Joe October 21, 2011 at 10:01 am

Dime111, well Im glad you are experiencing no ill effects but I still contend that the ingredients in Hokkaido pills cannot possibly work. Its surprising that you do not feel any reduction in appetite.

Joe October 21, 2011 at 6:58 pm

Wanted to pass this along. The FDA has recalled another weight loss supplement – Ja Dera – because it had sibutramine. Here’s the link.

Dani October 23, 2011 at 6:13 pm

Hello all, Ive been taking these for about a week and a half. I haven’t really noticed and side effects except dry mouth, and not being as hungry, I get hungry tho, but I seem to get full alot faster. As for the weight loss part of it I feel like my clothes are fitting better. I dont know if I’ve really lost anything yet because I’ve decided not to get on a scale till the end of the bottle. I know around what I weighed before taking these.
They were highly suggested to me from a couple friends and they say that they worked and that they lost a considerable amount of weight on these. Soo we’ll see… Ill keep updating if anything tho

John October 24, 2011 at 7:28 am

Hi to all and to Joe —

I’ve been taking the pill for 2 days now, and what I just noticed as an effect is that I felt less hungry compared to before. I also felt more thirsty [or dry mouth as described on the previous posts] and instead of craving for food, I crave for water! And on the same day that I took the first 2 pills, I wasn’t able to sleep well on that evening, and on the following day, I felt like I lack sleep, as if I felt like I was awake for 24 effin’ hours! Even way before I took the pills, I already started to lose appetite and eat less as well. But my sleeping routine changed after taking the first 2 pills. This was suggested to me by a friend who sells various stuff online.

She tried it for herself and she testified that she also lost weight by taking the pills for a month or two I think. I was hesitant at first, but I just gave it a burl for a week to see the result for myself. I just got a bit concerned with the ‘cancer’ thing that you mentioned on the review, since even males can get breast cancer I believe. But we don’t have a history of cancer in the family I guess. And one more thing, you mentioned that most of the ingredients of the pill does not contribute to weight loss, but has harmful health risks, so does this mean we have to be aware of it? And are there any studies that substantiate the health risks of these ingredients?

But I was advised by my friend who suggested me this pill that once I noticed the weight loss, I should continue the way I eat now, even w/o the pills. Hope to hear from you soon, Joe. :)

Joe October 24, 2011 at 9:51 am

Hi John, the possible side effects I listed for Hokkaido weight loss pills were for the most part based on what might happen, given what studies in lab animals and test tubes seem to show. Since Hokkaido pills themselves have never been tested for safety, the only way to know them is to look at the research on their ingredients. The side effects also would be based on how much of the ingredient they might have. When it comes to “real” side effects, I really don’t know what they might be unfortunately. I think the real value in my post are people like you have have commented so that others can learn from what you are experiencing. I’m learning a lot myself!

John October 24, 2011 at 9:19 pm

Joe —

As of this writing, I still feel the dryness of my throat and mouth that I’ve never experienced ever! Is this due to the diuretic effect of one of the ingredients of the pill?

Just like you, I can’t find any specific definition of the ingredients of this pill, whether it be chemical-based or purely natural. But as I take the pills, I’m looking forward to its good result, at least the acceptable results. And what was advised to me was, if I felt like the results are fairly acceptable for me, then I’ll stop taking the pill and continue the good eating habits that I have acquired during the time that I am taking the pill. :)

Joe October 25, 2011 at 9:37 am

John, it may be due to the diuretic effect or some other reason. Until I know exactly whats in it, its hard to say.

Dani October 26, 2011 at 3:10 pm

I was just wondering what the average amount of weight loss per bottle?

Joe October 26, 2011 at 4:06 pm

Dani, I dont think thats possible to answer. Its a good question but I don’t think that answer is known for any weight loss supplement.

Emilie October 27, 2011 at 9:51 am

I’m on day two of these hokkaido pills as well – very similar initial side effects to that of zi xui tang (I tried them last year and lost 25 lbs in 4 months before they changed the formula). I didn’t sleep well last night, and I now have this ‘glazed over’ feeling today… the only thing I can compare it to is the dizziness/high feeling I used to get from taking too much Coricidin/Dextromethorphan when I was a teenager. Also, I’ve only taken one pill as opposed to the recommended two daily. Just thought I’d pass this info along… I’ll update next month if I notice any significant changes. Joe, thanks for keeping these blogs and updates around!

Joe October 27, 2011 at 10:39 am

Emillle, thanks I am glad to help :)

Karla October 28, 2011 at 10:00 am

I started using these last last week. On my first week I lost about 4 kilos (without exercise). And because I wanted to lose more weight, on my 2nd week, I did exercise. And it seems that I cannot see some changes. Does moving a lot affects the effectiveness of the pill? And also, I feel like I am bloating and constipated. Unlike on my first week, I feel very light.

CJA October 30, 2011 at 7:07 am

I took Japan Hokkaido slimming pills during the first week of September 2011. On my first day, I took 2 capsules 30 minutes before breakfast. About 1 1/2 hours after, I began to perspire profusely, my hands and feet felt cold, I had chills, and I began to feel weak. I felt as if my strength was being drained out of me. About 3 hours later, I felt tingling sensations in my fingers. All throughout the day, I felt weak, and had very dry mouth.

I told the person whom I bought the pills from about my experience and she advised me to take 1 pill instead of 2. She also said that what I experienced was normal, in fact she even had customers who experienced palpitation.

The following day, I took just 1 pill, 30 minutes before breakfast. Again, I perspired profusely, felt weak (but not as much as the previous day), my mouth was dry, and I had tingling sensations in my fingers. I also experienced some dull pain on my right side.

I also experienced frequent urination and bowel movement.

Despite what I felt, I took the pills for about a week, and noticed my stomach got a little flatter, and my tight clothes suddenly fit me already.

After just 1 week, I completely stopped taking the pills because I was afraid the tingling sensations I felt in my fingers was an early sign of heart attack.

Yes, Japan Hokkaido slimming pills really slims you in a short period of time, but having gone through what I did, is not worth continuing taking those pills at the risk of my health or my life.

I’m glad there is a site that looked into the Japan Hokkaido pills. Thank you, Joe.

Joe October 30, 2011 at 12:41 pm

CJA, thanks for letting me know what happened to you and I’m glad you stopped taking the pills. Those symptoms would concern me also! Did the person who sold you the Hokkaido pills tell you about these symptoms before they sold them to you? Im guessing they did not or you probably might not have used them. The people who sell Hokkaido weight loss pills (and many other weight loss supplements) have no education in nutrition, science or medicine and because of that, telling you to cut back to 1 pill a day was poor advice. I dont think many of them realize the potential severity of the symptoms you described. Any supplement that causes heart palpations scares me. They put profit over your health and I find that disturbing.

CJA October 31, 2011 at 4:12 am

Joe –

I forgot to mention that I’m from Manila, Philippines. The person who sold me those pills DID NOT TELL me any of those symptoms I felt. She merely told me that it was totally safe. In fact, those pills can only be purchased online and delivered via courier. They are not available in drugstores and they are not registered with the Philippine Food and Drug Administration Office. I was aware of this, yet I still went on to purchase a couple of bottles.

I hope that those still using Japan Hokkaido pills would be able to look up this site and read all the negative feedback in order for them to STOP taking those pills before it’s too late.

Joe October 31, 2011 at 10:29 am

CJA, yes having a pain in your right side after taking the pills would give me concern also.

joan October 31, 2011 at 11:05 am

hi i took hokkaido pills last may and I lost 5kg in 1 bottle after 1 bottle I felt dull in my right side so i went to the doctor and i had a test urinalysis and they found out i have UTI need to check my kidney so after the kidney ultrasound it found out that i have a mild kidney problem because of that pills so I was confined in the hospital for about 4 days please avoid these pills

Cristina November 2, 2011 at 1:27 pm

I haven’t tried these but i know a lot of people who use them and have a lot of weight and none say that they have any of the above symptoms. It could be maybe that the people who had those side effects were because they might of purchased the knock offs, as from what I was told they do exist. Just wanted to add that :)

Liza November 2, 2011 at 1:36 pm

Hi! Thanks for your review. I was planning to purchase a bottle of the said slimming pills again after taking it for a few weeks. At first, I lose about 5 kg in just a week but the effect was not so good. I was experiencing insomnia, severe headache and difficulty of breathing while taking this product. I got scared to continue the next dose because I know that this signs are life-threatening. So, what I did, I finally decided to stop taking it and threw the remaining pills instead.

After several days, my weight had increased again. My appetite went back to the way it was before and up to this time I am still gaining weight. Not until this time that I got to this point of wanting to have a fit body again. However, it made me think to be very careful this time. I’ve checked out your review and, whoaw, thanks for giving such an informative and educational revelation.

I discouraged my friends too not to take this pills anymore.

Joe November 2, 2011 at 2:35 pm

Liza, thanks for your kind words I am glad I was able to help.

Aileen November 9, 2011 at 5:08 pm

I started taking these about two weeks ago. I haven’t weighed my self but I definitely feel the difference. I have experienced some side effects of dry mouth the first day I had a horrible head ache but that was just once. i sleep fine no insomnia. I get full right away when I eat and I don’t crave good all the time.which is great because I am one to check the fridge fifty times a day. I go to the restroom more which is not normal for me. I feel lighter.

Joe November 9, 2011 at 7:38 pm

Aileen, I checked you out on your FB page. If you dont mind me saying, I think you look great now. I wouldn’t change a thing.

pinkypop November 10, 2011 at 12:03 pm

hi Joe,
I taking this pills for about 4days starting this Monday, on my first day i take 2 pills.. after about 1 hour i felt trembles, and i have a cold sweat, that night i slept the same routine that i have, so i cant even imagine that i experience having insomnia attack.. same as for 2nd day.. but for the 3rd day and this day i experienced having back pain, and also after taking my meals maybe about 5 mins i go to the restroom..

But i felt to my self i reduced weight even my belly i don’t look like i’m 3 months pregnant..

Please help me to decide if i need to continue taking this pills.. thank you so much… all i want is to reduce my weight as normal like before without any risk to my health.. thanks for your help…

Joe November 10, 2011 at 1:21 pm

Pinkypop, I have to be honest and say your symptoms worry me. While I could be wrong – and I probably am – the cold sweats and back pain are symptoms of a heart attack. I dont mean to scare you but its the first thing I thought of when you told me your symptoms. I say this because I really feel Hokkaido weight loss pills contain some sort of weight loss drug or other ingredient, not mentioned on the ingredients list that is promoting the weight loss people are seeing.

I still stand by my original conclusion that based on the ingredients I saw in Hokkaido pills, there is no way this stuff helps people lose weight. One of the more recent products I’ve reviewed that was found to contain a weight loss drug was Phentraburn so this spiking of supplements with drugs does happen unfortunately. Here is the link to my review which links to the FDA website http://supplement-geek.com/phentraburn-slimming-supplements-unbiased-review-of-ingredients/

I recommend you stop taking Hokkaido weight loss pills. I dont know whats in them and I just dont want to take the chance that I am right. I hope some of this helps you.

MHary November 11, 2011 at 10:31 am

I have been taking this pills for about a 2 weeks already. For the first 3 days, i also experience the following symptoms. Insomnia, Chills, Colds and intense sweating. i stopped taking 2 capsules a day as recommended on day 4 and 5. On day 6 and 7 i stopped taking it since i really wish to eat something good since taking this pills made me lose my appetite.

On day 8, i drink 2 capsule before breakfast because i wanted to eliminate the excess intake i had for two days, Surprisingly, after 2 days taking it i don’t feel anything anymore. Like this pill no longer works for me. I still have my appetite, sleeps good, and i eat a lot.

On day 10, i stopped taking it because instead of losing weight, i started gaining weight. Like, What happened? it worked for the first 3 days till the 6th day and stopped. So, i stopped taking it, still in owe. Was wondering what had gone wrong.

Hokkaido do slims you down but we really can’t trust our health to slimming pills.

pinkypop November 11, 2011 at 11:57 am

Joe
thanks for your concern, ill stop these pills now, i don’t want something happen to me, but for now i don’t know what to do, in my case I’m worried in my health, how i wish theirs nothing wrong happen in my body..
this blog really helps a lot for those people who taking this pills to stop immediately..

Joe November 11, 2011 at 3:48 pm

Pinkypop, I am glad to help. Have you talked to your doctor about your desire to lose weight? that can be a good first step to taking the weight off in a healthy way.

chris November 12, 2011 at 7:56 am

of course they will not specify what ingredients they exactly used they will just put some of it for the label only. it’s a business by the way…if i were the owner of the company where hokkaido is made and many users testify that it really works in reducing weight i will not really show the secret ingredients why it is so effective we are all working for money and everyone of us will do everything just to earn even restaurants have there secret recipes why customers always prefer to buy and eat there product…just like the said slimming pills it has a secret ingredient why it works effectively and they will not show it so no one can copy there product…so therefore it’s for business all along…

and for the negative effects of it for me its with the person how he or she take it because if you take the pill you must also know if it is suitable for you…before taking the pills make some research first collect all the comments from the users then analyze go to your physician have a check up first to know if you have some illness then after if there’s nothing wrong with your body to take it then go for it….but of course you should always remember the best food for your health…be physically fit always while taking hokkaido because it not just with the hokkaido it within you also….thats all..

Crissandra Rodgers November 12, 2011 at 11:39 am

I really like the matter-of-fact way that Chris, the last commenter on this site just said about this pill! He brought up a wonderful question: If u have a product that really works, would u give the secret ingredient out, and expose it for everyone to copy? I don’t think so!!

That’s why this weight loss pill have gotten more comments than any other one that Joe has researched. I still want to know more about this pill myself, so I will continue to read everyone’s comments!! (BY the way: I wish one of the scientist behind these pills @ Hokkaido Pharmacy, Ltd. would read this page & comment themselves & let us ALL know why it’s soooo popular).

Joe November 12, 2011 at 11:43 am

Crissandra Ditto! I’d also like to learn more from somebody at Hokkaido Pharmacy. Good point!

Crissandra Rodgers November 12, 2011 at 11:51 am

Joe, I just commented a minute ago regarding Hokkaido pills. I stated that they have been commented the most on of all your other reviews, but I see I was wrong!! Xi Zu. has the most post, but this pill really has alot of recent comments that indicate more & more people are using it to lose weight. I also wanted to add that I have been taken Bladderwrack & Apple Cider Vinegar capsules for three months now, and have seen a HUGE difference in my clothes!! They are practically falling off of me!! No joke.

I know these are two herbal pills that have been around a long time, and have great results w/o harmful side effects as most other herbal or synthetic pills. My own mother told me about the apple cider vinegar,(which has so many medicinal purposes within itself) and I asked my nutritionist friend who runs a health food store about the bladderwrack. I desire to lose about another 20 pounds. I know I will because I’m losing slowly, and have NO SIDE EFFECTS @ all with these combinations. (2 pills each x’s 3 per day will give fantastic results with a good healthy diet). Hope this can help any other reader of your page!! :)

Joe November 12, 2011 at 12:02 pm

Crissandra, my mom told me about apple cider vinegar too!! Must be a mom thing :) Ive been meaning to look at any research on apple cider vinegar for a while now because execept from what I hear from others -and my mom – I dont know much about it but the fact that you are losing weight is good. Sometimes its testimonials that spur research. At this point I dont know how it would work but I do want to look at it. If you ever come across any research Id be interested in reading it. Same for Bladderwrack too!

Yes zi ziu tang stands ad the most popular thing Ive ever reviewed so far but you are also right that currently more people seem to be interested in Hokkaido weight loss pills. I think that’s because weight loss supplements come and go and when zi xiu tang stopped working for people – for whatever reason – and people stopped buying it. ‘Ive even seen internal memos from zi xiu tang distributors who knew something changed with the product but didn’t understand what changed. very weird.

Hi! I’ve been taking this pill for 2 months now using the prescribed 2 capsules per day before breakkie and I’ve lost 11 pounds since. I just don’t feel hungry at all! A lot of times I lose track of time and forget to have lunch because I don’t feel any hunger pangs. This is quite dangerous if you are alone most of the time. The only time I get to eat right and at a decent time is when I have dinner with my family or when I’m out with friends. Food has to be right in front of me for me to feel hungry. I eat my usual amount (pre-diet) and sometimes overindulge on certain foods *cough-chocolates-cough*.

One thing that’s bothered me is that I feel dehydrated and thirsty the whole day (and I keep forgetting to bring a bottle of water with me in the car when I go out!). It feels like no amount of water can satiate the thirstiness I feel & – slight exaggeration, but it feels like that sometimes. Other than that, I do not have the symptoms others (above commentors) have experienced with Hokkaido.

I’ve lately combined Hokkaido with daily supplements of Womens UltraMega from GNC (to make sure I get my daily nutritional requirements since I keep forgetting to leave my desk and get something to eat), additional 400 IU Vitamin E (for the skin) and Psyllium Seed Husk from GNC whenever I feel my constitution or bowel movement is not normal. I take all of them in the morning (except the Psyllium Husk capsule, which I take at night when I’m at home for obvious reasons).

When I get the chance, I’ll have myself checked for kidney stones and UTI, just in case I’m developing one already (though I do not feel the symptoms yet).

I still have 1 bottle left (40 capsules) and I think by the time I finish it, I’d have already achieved my desired weight. I started out at 138lbs and now down to 127. I want to lose those last 7 pounds. At 5’5, I do not see myself as fat or have an unhealthy body image. In fact, I think I’m lucky to be at my old body weight, but I just want to fit in my old clothes (especially my jeans!) again. I look at my old pictures when I was at my preferred weight and those are the ones that feel good to me.

I’m just sharing my experience with Hokkaido pills. In no way am I encouraging you to try it. I recommend that before you start taking this diet pill to check with your doctor first.

Thanks for having this amazing site — truly informative, unbiased and credible!

Hi, I was wondering if you have any expedience with ZXT gold. I started to take it 6 days ago, it does decrease the appetite but I have some concerning side effects.I feel nauseated and I cannot sleep more than 4 hours. I don’t have problems falling asleep but I wake up at 3-4 am. No dry mouth so far, no palpitations. My face become red and I have chills or hot flashes about one hour after I take the pills. Does anyone have any experience with ZXT Gold? Joe, do you have any idea what could be in those capsules? Thanks

Joe November 16, 2011 at 6:59 pm

Cam, I have not yet reviewed ZXT Gold (if anyone would like to send me the box I would review it) . I dont know whats causing those side effects where did you get your zxt gold from?

cam555 November 16, 2011 at 8:52 pm

zxt gold is sold by floydnutrition.com . I got a sample of 10 capsules. On the box is nothing more than on the website. Thanks

Joe November 17, 2011 at 10:45 am

The more I hear about floyd nutrition, the less I like it. I will write a review on zxt gold if I can see the box which lists the ingredients. if you can do that let me know and Ill email you privately

hime November 17, 2011 at 5:58 pm

i just took one pill 7 hours ago, it has a side effect wherein it prevents you from getting drowsy or sleepy. I gave it a try since i only have 1 hour of sleep and I still need to work 8 hour graveyard shift.

Yes, one of its side effects worked! I am not sleepy at all. I experience cold sweat, nausea, dizzy, and the worst part is.. I HAVE RASHES ALL OVER MY BODY.. :( i regret taking even a single pill! Now I’m itchy all over..

cam555 November 17, 2011 at 8:38 pm

I can send you the box, definitely. I can also send you a capsule in the box, if that helps…It is very interesting that it does work. It decreases the appetite, does not increase the hart rate but, at least for me , the insomnia is intolerable. I would be very interested to know what substances are in those capsules. I am wondering how come the pharmaceutical companies don’t look into it. If I’d know that the product does not have long term side effects, I would continue to take it. The insomnia could be solved with Benadryl. Are you aware who can tell what substances are in those capsules? Thanks

jm November 18, 2011 at 1:45 am

to those males who are taking hokkaido slimming pills, did u have decreased libido? thanks!

Joe November 18, 2011 at 9:53 am

Cam555 sounds good Ill email you privately now. Thanks!

Joe November 18, 2011 at 9:57 am

Hime wow! I think your the first person to say that side effect from Hokkaido weight loss pills. It sounds like you had an allergic reaction. Hopefully you have stopped taking the pills!

Andrew November 18, 2011 at 2:18 pm

sir you should do more research, your info regarding hokkaido is one sided.. i research every single ingrdients mentioned above and i found out that they have medicinal uses.

Andrew November 18, 2011 at 2:19 pm

perhaps google and some other medical books will prove you their uses

Queen November 19, 2011 at 3:09 am

Joe, I have tried Hokkaido Pills and yes they are effective. I was hesitant at first but when I tried it, it works like wonder. no major side effects except for the drying of throat and not craving for food. I feel so full even if I have eaten just 1/4 of my regular meal. the first week I have loss 4kg. I was 59 kg and not proportional to my height of 4″11. so I took the pills for a month. for my second week I loss 5kg and for the 3rd and last week I loss 7kg. all in all I loss 16kg for a month. Gained down to 43kg. I didn’t exercise or whatsoever. I stopped using the pills cause I wanted to try another slimming pill that is Slimmina. but it seems not working for me and it is even more expensive than Hokkaido. So I will just give Slimmina 1 week chance and then I will throw it away and back to hokkaido again.

I just want to share my experience on this product. But my advice always take precautions when taking any pills. And beware of fakes cause I’ve been said that fakes does have side effects like kidney failure etc.And if possible exercise. and eat less. that is the natural way of getting into shape anyway.

Joe November 19, 2011 at 7:11 am

Andrew I respect your opinion so since you have done your own research can you tell me which of the ingredients causes dry mouth and which ingredients causes people to stop eating? Any studies you found to support it Id love to see also

Hi joe,

Want to hear somebody from hokkaido to say something on this pill..

april November 25, 2011 at 3:44 am

wow joe,

thanks so much for this very informative post. i was about to purchase my very 1st bottle. i decided to read actual testimonial from past users and thankfully i landed on your blog.

now it got me thinking if buying those hokkaido pills for a very cheap price is worth risking my health.

thanks
-april

Joe November 26, 2011 at 11:42 am

karz November 27, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Ella November 27, 2011 at 8:28 pm

Hi Joe,

I have read the comments about Hokkaido and I tell you this stuff really works.

This really helped me in losing weight. I have always been on the heavy side all my life and had tried all sorts of weight loss regimen there is in the market. Some did work but it takes so much time and effort, and even so, I only lost very little.

I have been afraid to take pills as it is always featured with bad side effects and doesn’t really work (some are very expensive). I even at some point tried Orlistat (anti-obesity pill) for 2 weeks out of desperation and the experience was very embarassing and uncomfortable (as it gives you very nasty smelling-oily poop).

Now a cousin of mine tried Hokkaido, and I’ve really seen the difference. She lost around 20lbs from her 180lbs frame and it was only for 1 bottle. I was impressed and asked her to order one for me.

I took 2 pills before breakfast and yes, same symptoms as what others described above. Dry mouth, tingling sensation, thirst, loss of appetite, mild headache. I got a bit scared but reading the literature, it is expected. So i let it pass and continued, for as long as my body allows it (see I am that desperate). Then gradually it gotten better. I experience lesser symptoms, and good thing was, I lost my appetite consistently all throughout. I am happy it did because it is hard for me to cut down on food that I really crave for.

My clothes were starting to fit better within a week of taking it. And i feel better and ‘clean’ inside, because it has a diuretic effect. I had a regular bowel movement and am less constipated. But not really bad painful LBM like when you’re taking slimming teas.

As for the side effects, I think it would depend on who is taking it. Make sure you do not have any kidney or heart problems before getting into this regimen. Or better yet get a general health check first. I think it applies to all, especially if you’re trying to lose weight.

I’m almost halfway down my 1st bottle and I have lost almost 8-10lbs already. Which is really good because I had never lost so much weight with less exercise in a span of weeks. I’ll continue taking it until I reach my desired weight. Then eventually stop. My take on this product is, it really Does work with minimal side effects.

Hope this review helped.

Joe November 28, 2011 at 10:35 am

Ella, thanks for the feedback. much appreciated. let me know how things go weight – wise when you get off Hokkaido pills. Im curious if the weight comes back and if it does, how fast it returns.

inertia November 28, 2011 at 1:56 pm

No one seems to be talking about WHERE they’re getting these from. With the ZXT we were talking about the distributors and who to trust and how they were handling (or not) the complaints.

Is there anyone here that can share where they’re getting their product from? Particularly since that horror story from the man in California. Is everyone ordering these direct from the Philippines? Is there anyone here that brought product into Canada?

Any comments and feedback on sources would be appreciated.

kath November 29, 2011 at 4:32 am

Hello.. I started taking it yesterday and experience same side effects.. Dry throat specifically that I have to drink water continuously. Yet, today, when i took it, minutes after i felt so weak, wanna vomit and feeling chills all over my body.

I’m from Philippines anyway.. I’m about to buy at an online store my friend recommended (she took this pill also and I saw that she really loss weight) but decided to just buy at the stores here in our place because of the shipment fee. I bought the pills at P250 pesos.. Here’s the link that my friend is recommending me http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/3981143/ORIGINAL+JAPAN+HOKKAIDO+SLIMMING+PILLS

Marius November 30, 2011 at 7:19 am

I’m Back Sir, and again I’m taking this tablets i already lose a lot of weights :) ) Thanks to Hokkaido pills. The only side effects is hard bowel movement. I don’t know why. :D But I already lose a lot of weight because of this. EFFECTIVE again.

Joe November 30, 2011 at 12:05 pm

ok sounds good Marius but remember I don’t think you need to lose much from your website picture

Anne December 3, 2011 at 6:45 am

hi joe! I appreciate your effort in doing a research re hokkaido pills..

Im from the Philippines..I took Jap-Hok for 4days as instructed on the label..I lost 4kg in 4days but that was such a TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE! In the first 3 days of taking it, I felt “blank”,like somewhat “floating” and dizzy..the effect was immediate..like 30mins after taking 2 pills before breakfast.

The positive effects:

-I NEVER felt hungry ,I don’t have appetite, I even forced myself to eat so as not to skip a meal..
-I felt very active like the symptoms kinda subside once I do brisk walking or running… I’m an ER nurse so that effect might have been beneficial for me.
-I noticed my belly, arms and thighs suddenly shrank down.

The Negative effects:

-I felt dryness on my throat and skin even if i drink lots of water.
-I had a problem with my short term memory, weird?yeah, but my colleagues shared the same symptom too.
-the worst side effect is palpitations!

On the 4th day,i felt tingling sensation on both hands, numbness of arms and legs radiating to face, cold sweats and pale skin.I almost felt like dying or passing out!i was rushed to the hospital where I work, did an ECG,blood tests and IV hydration. The ER Doctor (who’s my friend) was shocked to see Ischemia on my ECG which might predict or might lead to HEART ATTACK! Thank God other tests did not confirm it so.however, my Potassium level has dropped due to dehydration which is very dangerous.

when I told the doctor I took the pills,he warned me that those pills usually contain “methamphetamine” that is used to treat severe obesity but has harmful even fatal effects too.
I hope this would be a Lesson TO EVERYONE!

Don’t risk your lives over such slimming pills!

Joe December 3, 2011 at 7:48 am

Anne, thanks for writing and for mentioning the ischemia. That is a VERY serious condition. I keep wondering what is in Jap Hok pills that would cause that. I don’t trust the product label to tell us all that that product contains.

Laura December 7, 2011 at 7:29 pm

I have a question does anyone know that there is fake Hokkaido slimming pills out there or even how to tell which ones are fake. And about the guy from kern county that had his shipment seized. I live in kern county and I know tons of people that order them straight from the manufacturer and never had that problem and I get the real ones and there is no typos on the bottle and the shipments never been labeled wrong.

I have been taking them for a week now with no side effects. That’s probably why the stories vary so much. The number one way to tell if you have the real deal is when you open up the pills the real ones have a tan powder and the fake ones have a dark brown powder

just-in December 9, 2011 at 10:10 pm

Hey guys,

I have also actually been wondering about the adverse side effects of this slimming pill. I have been taking this for about 2 months and I can definitely say that it has made a very big change on my weight and on my mother’s as well my mother lost 5inches off her waist and so have I. Besides the tingling sensations, profuse sweating, liquid stool, and frequent visits to the restroom, I have not experienced any bad effects, or at least effects that my mother and I could not bear.

the only thing that worries me though is the effect the medicine may have in the long run. I was told by my supplier to take the pills for two months then abstain from it for a month and detoxify for a week and, if I still wish to do so, go back to taking the pills.

I dont know whether to say that these pills are soo dangerous to one’s health since there has been no proof that it is. But, if it does have, then stopping the intake would definitely not be hard.

My teachers and friends at school have noticed the very big change that I have had, so I told them about hokkaido and some of them have started taking the pill. But, once there is proof of it being not good for one’s health, then Ill advice against it.

Cali Guy December 16, 2011 at 1:20 pm

I took these pills last year and started off weighing 192lbs. In around 3-4 months i was down to 165 lbs without changing my eating routine. Only side affects I have experiences is dry mouth. Other than that they have worked great.

Melissa December 27, 2011 at 3:36 pm

I’ve been taking these pills for a week now. The first day I took them, I felt lightheaded and very weak. My mouth felt like the Sahara desert but I still didn’t drink much water. I experienced occasional palpitations and headache. I still felt hungry all the time and it didn’t suppress my appetite.

After reading this, I would definitely stop taking these pills and any kind of slimming products. Last year, I tried Curvy Slimming Juice and a month after I experienced an irregular heartbeat. It felt like I’m having a heart attack. My mom told me that if I continue taking these, I’ll be thinner. Thin enough to fit a slim coffin.

Thank you for this site! You’re a blessing! I will send this to all my friends ♥

Joe December 27, 2011 at 5:06 pm

Melissa, thanks for your words. I have not heard of Curvy Slimming Juice before. Ill add it to my list of things to look at :)

Chrystle December 28, 2011 at 2:17 am

I’ve been taking the Hokkaido pills for 3 months, the first 2 weeks I was very thirsty and lost my track of thought. The symptoms faded away and now I have no side effects. I’ve lost 25 pounds in 3 months and went down 2 pant sizes. I feel so good and everyone notices the weight loss.

If I eat I will use the bathroom within 15 minutes but that’s okay because I feel empty and not bloated or full. Some days I feel like munching throughout the day and other days I don’t have the desire to eat at all. I do not get the chills, UTI, or any of the other major side effects other people have had. I know over 15 people currently taking the pills and the average weight loss is about 2 pounds a week.

Laura December 31, 2011 at 5:25 am

I have a feeling alot of people are getting fake ones and they need to know what they are ingesting.

Thinner Me December 31, 2011 at 10:18 am

Hokkaido does work, I lost 20 lbs in 2 months. I think they work by:

1. Suppressing your appetite.
2. Diuresis/Flushing out water in your body which decreases bloating and increases thirst (the more water you drink the more full you feel)
3. Increasing your metabolic rate–I had palpitations and noted that I sweat more

Regarding safety, since there are no trials to establish its long term effects, I think it should be best to have baseline values of liver and kidney function tests.

BTW, UTI is an INFECTION acquired from bacteria and other microbes that climb up to the bladder from the genitals and anus, I don’t think you can blame it on the pills.

Its always a personal choice to take meds or not, if you’re not sure and if you think it might be harmful, then don’t. I don’t know what the other side effects of this drug are but I know it really makes you lose weight.

Thinner Me December 31, 2011 at 10:27 am

The light headedness you feel from taking the pills is called HYPOGLYCEMIA which is just decreased blood sugar because you haven’t been eating. I usually take this as my cue to grab a meal. Drink lots of water when your mouth feels dry.

The best way to take the pills is in the morning–as described in the box. Having a heavy breakfast at around 7am will tide you over until 4 pm. Eating at around this time keeps me full enough to skip dinner, which is best because you don’t need the extra calories when you go to sleep.

Joe December 31, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Thinner Me, while that does make some sense, there are other things than can cause lightheadedness other than low blood sugar. While drinking water is a good thing as a rule, if your urine looks clear, people are probalby getting enough. There is a serious condition called Hyponatremia that results from drinking too much water. The water “dilutes” the electrolytes in the blood. One symptom of hyponatremia is being lightheaded/confused. in extreme cases it can lead to death.

Just wanted to toss hyponatremia into the conversation since its something that does not get talked about much.

Happy New Year by the way ;)

michelle_dee January 1, 2012 at 8:53 pm

Hello!(: I just started taking these pills on Dec. 30th in hopes of losing weight! I’ve read good and bad reviews on this product so I figured I’m just gonna have to personally try them and see what side effects, if any, I experience. So far so good..the only difference I’ve noticed is that I don’t get as hungry as I used to before starting these pills. Besides that, everything else remains the same..maybe its too soon to tell, since its only been a couple days lol, but I will def keep u guys posted on my weight lose journey! Hopefully the next time I check-in, its good news and not bad! Haha well have a lovely new years day everyone!!!(:

Ceci January 1, 2012 at 9:02 pm

Hi guys;) I did tried this product and it really works .I took it for straight 7 days and lost about 10 lbs.Yes it will have side effect of thirst coz it’s draining excess body water and causes LBm .Make sure to drink 8 glasses of water refrain from eating too much salty food ,drink Gatorade .One week was enough for to take this pills.I do take it only when I miss BM in a day or if I I like to eat plenty I take this to evacuate it the next day, lol.
headache signs bec u r not not eating or skipping meals.
Right now I’m watching my diet and even I eat my stomach will suddenly feels full right away.

E January 4, 2012 at 12:21 pm

Laura: I am also from Kern County, Can u tell me more about the guy getting his shipment seized?

kris January 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm

I bought this pills on a well-known mall here in the philippines. at first I was hesitant but since its sold in this mall i bought it. I used it for 3 weeks and lost 10lbs.
On my first week, the symptoms that i experienced are insomnia, suppressed appetite, BM, and high energy even if i only ate a little.

2nd wk : the same as 1st wk and its our sembreak so when classes resumed, i have to use the stairs because my room is on the 4th flr. so when i reached my room and sat down, i noticed that i feel nervous or anxious, its like a heavy feeling i dont know how to explain. at first, i tried to ignore it coz i think it was because of the stairs. 15 mins passed, i still feel it so i checked my heartbeat and it was so fast. i asked my friend who went also the same stairs if she is experiencing it too but she wasn’t. so i let her feel mine and she was surprised because it was really fast. then we waited for 30 mins and its still the same. It made me worried. then it went back to normal later on. this is my first time to experience this

3rd wk: dry mouth, pain from the back of my neck, right shoulder, insomnia, lightheaded..

Im still on my 3rd wk, yesterday morning was the last time i took it. I have 4 pills left.
When i arrived at my home, i felt dizzy, the pain on my back still hurts, i have fever and mouth is drier. i notice that when i move my tongue to the sides, there are skin falling off. and i was so scared so i searched and found this website.

I think I’m dehydrated. so i ate tomatoes and drank milk to gain potassium.
now, i still feel dizzy and weak.. and Im writing this because I want you to know what happened so that others will not try it. me and my sister is thinking of going to the hospital later if my fever will get worse.
I dont want to sleep so I wrote this.
thank u Mr. Joe.

Joe January 5, 2012 at 10:52 pm

Kris,
Just able to get to your email now. I do hope you went to the hospital if you felt that bad. did you? what did the doctor say? I hope you are ok

Laura January 6, 2012 at 2:47 am

E if you read all the comments you will see his post I think his name is don he says flat out that the shippers miss labeled the boxes and down further said all his pills were tested and had a diet drug that was banned not too long ago. But I wish people would really look into if their pills are real or fake before taking them so they might know if the people that had bad side efects can tell me if the powder inside is tan or dark brown. Same with people that have good stories.

michelle_dee January 6, 2012 at 10:33 am

Hello!!(: so I’m checking back in..today is exactly one week since I’ve first taken these pills and I have great news!!!
I weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost a whopping 8 pounds!!!!!! In just 7 days! I honestly love these pills and I’m very curious why some users have such bad side effects from these, and very few users have little to no side effects?? Hmmm..that’s alarming, I’ll admit! I would def stop taking these pills as well if I felt what some of u guys are feeling that have taken these pills!
But I’m glad to report that I have not experienced any alarming or questionable side effects! My only side effects include: energy, frequent bowel movements, suppressed appetite, and dry mouth.
However, I do eat throughout the day, although I don’t feel hungry! I just make sure I’m eating something healthy and I remember portion control! Also, I don’t eat past 6pm!

So, in closing, these pills have worked wonders for me. I’m sorry that these pills just were not working for some of u and hopefully u do find something else out there that aids in ur weight loss goals!!

I will continue to check in every week!(:
8 pounds down, 22 pounds to go!!! LOL happy Friday everyone!!!!

Love,
Michelle_Dee

Jess January 6, 2012 at 8:29 pm

Hello.. just received these today and took two… not even two hours later just like others.. drymouth and my hands are tingley…. will keep posted

michelle_dee January 7, 2012 at 3:58 am

Laura,

The pills I took, had tan powder inside of them..is there a dif in the tan and dark brown powdered pills? I’m really curious!

fatkidatheart January 7, 2012 at 4:36 am

Don, I’m confused by all your posts. Two say you ordered from the Philippines and one says china. I’ve researched these pills and can’t tell where they are actually manufactured, as each “distributor” claims a different country of origin. I’ve heard China, Philippines, and japan. I’m assuming they are all manufactured in the same place, but if not, that could explain why some people experience side effects and some experience nothing, not even weight loss.

This isn’t meant as a personal attack, but I also noticed you said you stopped taking the pills after 30 days because you had lost all the weight you wanted to lose. But a few posts later you said you are taking them after a week off because you need to lose 35 lbs before your wedding. It makes me think your info isn’t reliable.

Lee January 8, 2012 at 11:54 am

Hi Jo, I wish I had read your posts even before buying these pills.
I’ve tried everything, Maggie, Zhen de Zhou, Ballerina..all of the “Chinese” slimming products, even the slimming tea and coffee. As a 30 year old / single mom, I don’t really have time to exercise so I turn to the quick fix which are these pills.

After taking Hokkaido, only after a couple of hours I noticed the same observations that the others on the site posted. Tingly-fingers, felt I was always spaced out or floating. I was thirsty and walked around with a bottle of water wherever I went. I thought that it was like that since it was just the first day. So I continued and clenched my teeth through all the other symptoms thinking that my body was just adjusting to it. After taking it for 5 days, I woke up one morning and couldn’t feel my right arm. My lower legs hurt and I thought that I had injured it. (Which is impossible since I don’t really do much physical activity).

On the 6th day I threw the bottle away and went about doing my usual errands. I was standing in front of my house with the grocery bags and fell to my knees. I was taken to the hospital and after hours and blood tests, I was told that my sodium and potassium levels had dropped. Silly me, I didn’t tell the doctor that I was taking these pills. I did some research and found how dangerous loss of potassium and sodium is in our body.

I definitely learned my lesson. Will be sure to research first and it’s time to realize that there’s no easy way to lose weight. Thanks for keeping this forum, definitely allows others to share their experiences. For those who were successful with the product, congratulations!

Laura January 11, 2012 at 4:26 am

The tan powder is the real ones and dark brown powder is fake. And they normally have a holographic genuine stamp on the box.

Laura January 11, 2012 at 4:29 am

Oh and on the box it says the place that makes them and there is a website but can be hard to find with all of the people selling them

mailene January 12, 2012 at 6:32 am

i saw hokkaido slimming pills on the internet when i saw searching of the best slimming pills ever, i have red different testimonials regarding this product saying what they have experienced .. the first time i have taken this product I’m not that so sure of what was my weight back then but all i remembered is that my ever favorite pants loosen up, it was only my 1st time to drink that kind of pills .. when i ran out of my pill i bought the same product at different person .. the 1st bottle i bought was the genuine one but the second bottle i was able to bought was the fake one ..

the 1st bottle i was able to bought didn’t make me feel hungry most of the time, i feel like I’m bloated, ever time i’m about to eat when i had saw foods or even smelled it i feel that i’m already so much full .. also i had dried mouth and throat all the time, and even though i already drinks 2 glasses of cold water it feels the same .. i had palpitations .. i wasn’t able to sleep well during couple of days .. my hands are tingley .. i keep on urinating every now and then but this time i can’t control my pee .. i just poo in the morning when i woke up .. but after my system was immune of that kind of pills it finally lower those things .. the person who sold it to me told me that it was natural .. so i believed her :)

while the second bottle i bought i just taken 2 capsules then i stopped .. because when i looked at it thoroughly the color of the capsule of the second bottle was lighter than the first bottle .. i was scared of what might happen ..

MY PARENTS DON’T EVEN KNOW THAT I WAS TAKING THAT KING OF PILL EVERYDAY .. BOTH OF THEM ARE REGISTERED NURSES AND THEY KNOW IF ITS GOOD OR BAD FOR THE HEALTH ..

after a long time of stop taking HOKKAIDO i gained much wait again .. so i bought 2 bottles for 40 days so that when i ran out of my first bottle i wont buy rush with out checking if it is really genuine or not ..

and TODAY is my 3rd day of drinking that king of pill .. when i finally finish my 2 bottles i will stop taking it and just maintain the weight i will be having .. i’m scared that i might have UTI as what is said the previous testimonials ..

I WILL JUST DRINK LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER AND BUKO JUICE .. EAT RIGHT AND LESSER AMOUNT OF FOOD .. AND EXERCISE AS MUCH AS MY BODY COULD :) )

Hello, hello!! Well today marks the 2nd week that I’ve been taking these pills! And with such good results last week, I’m disappointed to report bad news this week.

I weighed myself today and sadly, I have not gained nor lost one single pound this whole week!!!:( I have no clue as to why this happened to me this week if last week I lost 8 ponds!!! I was very discouraged after seeing no weight loss.

I’m trying to figure out how this could be possible? As of right now, I have no answer..however, I’m going to continue taking the pills and hopefully next Friday, I’ll see lower digits on that scale!:(

Sincerely,
disheartened Michelle_Dee

Michelle, dont beat yourself up. sometimes as you get closer to your goal weight – or where your body feels “comfortable” – it slows down its metabolic weight which makes weight loss harder. Metabolic rate does tend to slow down as we lose weight.

Emjhay, that doesn’t sound good to me. I recommend you stop taking it immediately and see your doctor.

Joe,
Thanks for the info! (: I did get really discouraged with not losing a pound!! So I stopped taking the pills as of Saturday (jan. 14th) and I felt extremely hungry! Like all the time! Even after I would eat a good sized meal, an hour later I would feel as if I were starving!!:( so I figured, okay..that could be due to the fact that I wasn’t feeding my body very much food and it was kinda wanting to make up for all the lost calories? LOL I dont know..I was just assuming haha…so I could deal with that, no problem!

What I could NOT deal with, however, was the fact that after stopping these pills, I became extremely CONSTIPATED!!! I couldn’t have a bowel movement even if my life depended on it!!!!:( so that did bother me a whole bunch! I started feeling really crampy and bloated so today, (jan. 18th)

I started taking these pills again..and within one hour, I had diarrhea! And then I felt a whooooole lot better!:/ but, I’m still at the same weight since my last weigh in on Friday. So even after not taking these pills for 4 days, I did not gain any weight back..

Anyway, I’m going to continue taking these pills and I’ll just see what happens in the future(:

Hi Joe This is my 4th day taking the pill and so far my tummy seems smaller but I still feel the hunger, although my supplier told me it would take about 2-3 days for the pills to kick in. Since the first day I drank the pills I get chills and a tingling sensation in my back, I feel very much dehydrated and I also experience the headaches.

I’ve only experienced palpitation once I don’t know though if it was because of the pills or the Chinese food take out I ate or maybe even both. I’ve also had trouble sleeping before I started drinking hokkaido but now the pills keep me up until 6 or 7 AM. I also feel so irritable all the time because I’m hungry and I don’t get enough sleep.

I was really surprised at the feedback from other people. I’m so glad I came across this page

Janina, you said you “drank” the pills. Are you taking a liquid form of this supplement?
