Japanese Hokkaido Weight Loss Pills are another in a long line of weight loss supplement from Japan, China, Vietnam etc. aimed predominately at Americans. I admit I’ve never heard of these pills until it was brought to my attention by one of the readers of my blog. At various websites these pills are said to be “in high demand” and when I checked Ebay I saw some people selling them for over $60! Do these slimming pills work? Let’s see what the research says. This review contains updated and new information, thanks to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) who tested Hokkaido weight loss pills and discovered what I suspected from the start…
Hokkaido Pills Ingredients:
- Dill Extract
- Chinese rose extract
- Trumpet Creeper extract
- Evening primrose extract
- Lotus
Is there any evidence that these ingredients help people lose weight? Let’s look at the research and see:
Dill extract. They don’t tell you what “extract” they are talking about but when I searched for weight loss research on dill, I found nothing. Dill does seem to have a diuretic effect so it may act like a natural water pill. I’m guessing that is why it’s in the ingredients.
Women who may be pregnant should avoid Hokkaido Weight Loss Pills. There is some speculation that dill may cause menstrual bleeding. I cannot find any research or case studies to substantiate this however but it is something to consider.
Chinese rose extract. Again, they do not tell us what specific extract they are talking about. What is the scientific name of the Chinese rose they are using? If anyone knows, let me know and I will update this review.
Trumpet Creeper extract. If you search for research on Trumpet Creeper, online it can be a little difficult to find because its scientific name is Campsis radicans. Another name –albeit less scientific – is cow itch, which is a reference to how farm animals sometimes get a rash when they rub against it. This makes sense since the name “radicans” is the same classification as poison ivy (Rhus radicans).
That said, I could not locate any weight loss proof that Trumpet Creeper works. When I goggled Trumpet Creeper and weight loss, many sites that came up had to do with sites that sell weight loss pills and that was no help. I then checked the National Library of Medicine and also couldn’t find anything. One problem with my search is that we are not told what extract of Trumpet Creeper is in Hokkaido weight loss pills.
Evening primrose extract. This is also called GLA which stands for gamma-linolenic acid. The lack of evening primrose weight loss research makes me very skeptical. One study from the 1980s found evening primrose oil did not help weight loss.
Because evening primrose oil effects blood clotting, people taking blood thinners should avoid this product. There is also some perplexing cancer research that hints that evening primrose oil might either reduce breast cancer growth or speed up breast cancer growth, depending on how much is used. Bottom line, if you have a history of cancer talk to your doctor first.
The product Abdominal Cuts also has evening primrose oil. See that review for more info.
Evening primrose oil is sometimes used for PMS symptoms –with mixed results. Like Dill, women who may be pregnant should not use evening primrose oil.
It may be very dangerous. If you have my book on supplements see the chapter on evening primrose oil for more on its other uses.
Update 11/9/12. The FDA alerted the public that Japanise Hokkaido Pills contained the weight loss drug called sibutramine, a weight loss drug that was removed from the US market in 2010 because it posed significant health risks. Here is what the FDA said in their warning about Hokkaido pills:
“Sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. This product may also interact, in life-threatening ways, with other medications a consumer may be taking.
This explains the very strange symptoms people have been reporting in the comments.
As for lotus, again there is no human weight loss research. I did locate one test tube study where lotus and L carnitine reduced fat buildup inside fat cells. This is interesting but it’s a study of fat cells in test tubes. You are MUCH more complex than a test tube.
You may recall that lotus is one of the ingredients in Zi Xiu Tang Bee Pollen weight loss supplements.
On one of the websites that sells Hokkaido Pills they spelled “primrose” wrong and there is broken English. Nobody is perfect but ingredient typos – and broken English on websites make me wonder about who put this websites together.
Do Hokkaido Weight Loss Pills work?
Based on the research I can find, I say no, this stuff cannot possibly work - if these are the only these ingredients in the pills. If people are losing weight, I am interested in hearing about it. Since I wrote this review, the FDA has confirmed what I thought all along – that Hokkaido pills do in fact contain the weight loss drug sibutramine.
What do you think?

Thanks for this wonderful review, Joe!
I am Desiree and I am from the Philippines. I took 2 bottles of Hokkaido Pills last February 2011 until I fully consumed everything. Surprisingly, I lost almost 30-40 lbs. Everyone in our office noticed that I was really losing a lot of weight. My tummy was really flat, thighs and arms were no longer flabby, and I can already were fitting clothes. Given those positive changes, I also experienced side effects: Insomnia, dry mouth, cold sweat, oily stools, decreased appetite, headache, palpitation (this was the most alarming), and pimples on my face which I didn’t like at all!
After finishing the 2 bottles, I stopped. One of my friends used Jap Hok as well and surprisingly, she told me that she experienced almost the same thing when she tried illegal drugs before. There was this feeling of “state of high” according to her. That caught my attention so I told her to stop.
Unfortunately, I am having “diet pills rebound effect” now. I didn’t notice that after few months of not taking the pills, my size went double which is frustrating. I am now into sports and healthy eating so hopefully I would get back into shape.
I am a Registered Nurse and I know that taking this Jap Hok pills is very alarming given all the testimonials from the people above. Kidney, liver and heart problems might arise when you reach a certain age.
Please stop taking these pills!!! they are bad!!! I got menstrual bleeding for like 3 weeks..shortness of breath, and a high uric acid. I had never experienced this before…and with only one bottle…I got all these side effects..oh and lets not forget the palpitations!!!!
Desiree where did you purchase the pills. or can anyone tell me where they purchased their pills from. obviously the REAL ones
hi joe!
i’m kim from the philippines. it was allover the news early june, BFAD has ordered confiscation of these slimming pills (hokkaido is one of them) and slimming coffee/beverages from china, because research and testing showed these products positive with METHAMPHETAMINE.
here’s a video of one of the local news programs here.. take time to watch for those who can understand filipino. hope this helps!
just click play on the video..

kim thanks. I wish i understood it. the video looked interesting.
It seems everyone is saying bad things about these pills, but no one has said they had the Hokkaido Slimming Pills tested or done a urine test to see if the sibrutramine ( not sure if I spelled that right) showed up in their urine, or if its in the fake ones or if its in the real ones. (Or did I miss that post)
Lyn, Im not aware of any proof the have / had Sibutramine. If I find any proof yes or no on this I’ll update this review
Hello, I’ve been taking these pills for months and they work wonders for appetite suppressant and work as a cleanser. I got hurt back in March and had to stop working out.
I started taking these to maintain my body weight. If you are looking to lose minimal weight they will help minimal. The more weight you have to lose the more results you’ll see, how ever if you are trying to lose 5-10lbs I suggest you change your diet, take the pink pills and add a work out.
Also they do not give you the energy but they do make you thirsty!
Hi Glow
My sister was actually taking these pills last year and they did make her lose a lot of weight fast!!!!BUT a few months later she fainted and when we took her t the doctor they said she had high blood pressure and all sorts of new illnesses .. before my sister was healthy, she hardly ever got sick now shes all weak! its up to you if u wanna keep taking them but I don’t recommend it! don’t say u weren’t warned.
Hi,
Im a japan hokkaido slimming pills user for about 6 months now.. I lose 47 pounds already! I asked my doctor before using the pills and she said its okay to use it since the composition of the pills are mostly herbal. Mine are the authentic ones.. I can tell that the fake ones are tan colored (which is on the video link above) and the authentic ones are pink.
Hope this helps.
ok, cause everyone is saying sibutraime is in them, but where’s the proof?
Hi everyone I would like to start off by saying that my wife has been taking these pills for 2 years now and looks and feels great. she lost over 30 lbs in the first 4 months. After that she was happy with her weight. It takes some time for the weight to come back but when she puts on a few pounds she will take them again. my guess will be one bottle every 3 months. Also I began taking these pills myself.
I just started my 3rd bottle today and am 20 lbs lighter. Anyways I’ve been researching these pills for over a year now and this is some of the information I’ve gotten from websites and my provider from the ph.
1) There are fake and authentic pills. These pills are in high demand and that means you will have counterfeiters taking advantage. They counterfeited the product and are targeting Americans. they even have a fake website japan-hokkaido-pills.com they lure you in with prices like 5 dollars a bottle if you buy bulk and then people end up selling them on ebay.
2) Never heard or seen of sibutraime being in the product. where was this information obtained?
3) Most fake pills will also help you lose weight but have side effects and are harmful. ( A friend of mine was having headaches and sleepless nights taking her pills she bought off ebay. So after checking them I let her know they were fake) these fake pills are flooding the market and its not right.
4) Ok about seeing if they are “REAL” its pretty simple. there is an anti counterfeit slip in each box that clearly states to check the id # ( serial number) on the silver sticker.
It can not reduplicate at all every box should have a different number! so if possible buy more than 1 and compare them. most fake pills have an old repeated id# which usually starts with a 3*****. The real product is now in the 900,000 to over 1,000,000 numbers and climbing. Also check inside the box. the bottle should be short, have a blue Chinese gel pack inside, and the inside of the pill should be a light tan.
4) there is a few different partnership companies that make the real product but they are contracted to sell to distributors and not the general public. They purchase huge orders, break them up and resell to the public.
5) Also the real pills are now being manufactured in boxes with the “gold rose” sticker. there are still a few black sticker boxes on the market left that are also real. The makers change the sticker colors to avoid counterfeiting. the first was blue then black now gold ( which will also change soon). if u remove the gold rose sticker it should have “original” printed behind it.
Hope this have helped. Ive been around these pills a while and I see nothing wrong with them. All I can think of is the people with problems must of been taking fakes.
Oh also heard about the gift wrapping which right away would be a red flag in my eyes. my packages come packaged in solid plastic colors blue or white.
@ Lead, I would like to know where you order them from, the bottle I had, has all the above mentioned, but the packet inside is white with blue writing not a blue Chinese gel pack. My friend has received one large box in wrapping paper but the rest is wrapped in like the sack grocery bags that were brown.
I have no idea why people are saying they have sibutraime in them, cause no one has tested the powder in the pills to prove it. I have even heard of people going to court to prove these pills are safe and don’t contain sibutraime. But not sure if they have proof. I really think everyone that has had problems with the pills they took, were the fake ones… Cause when I was taking them I was fine too…
Lead, you said you have suppliers… that sounds like you or your wife is a distributor / sells hokkaido pills . is this correct?
I keep the comments free from people who sell supplements because if i dont, everybody will soon be inundated will all sorts of ads for all sorts of products. thats not what I want the comments to be about. If you check the supplements questions page, you’ll see this is the first question I address.
am i correct? do you sell this supplement?
@ Joe I don’t consider myself a seller. But my wife on the other hand sells locally mainly to family and friends. I did not post on here to try and sell her product. I did it to inform everyone on what I have found on months of researching. I hope my post has helped and I like to see what others have to say. I wish I could help everyone by telling them where to go and make purchases but I’m not going to make it harder on my wife to receive her pills then it already is.
Believe me we have purchased from dealers who swore they had the real product and unless you do the research all u will have is that persons word to go by. Which some times we would reieve fakes.
What I can say is Ive seen a lot of different prices for these pills and this is what I think about that. If you purchase in bulk the real pills should cost you about 10- 14 dollars. Retail the pills should sell for about 20-25 dollars.
Lead thats Ill take it that you didn’t mean to. its fine helping others with your insights but I hsd to mention it since its not fair to the others who try market their products here.
hi!i just started taking hokkaido..it also has the same side effects of the Brazilian fashion coffee..i also get dry mouth and i am always thirsty.i feel the hunger though, but i dont have the crave to eat..hokkaido’s “secret” ingredient side effects are similar to the well known drug,methamphetamine..
This product really works but I honestly don’t know if this experience of mine is it’s side effect. The first few days of taking those pills, I started to frequently feel the dizzyness and seeing these black spots for like 5 secs.
whenever I suddenly stand.
I know that is quite normal when you change position so suddenly but it happens to me almost all the time. Do you think it might probably be a side effect of this product? I am not currently taking any medicine or any pill.
joycee, go off the pills for a few days and see if it still happens. if not, then its probably the pills
@ lead, omg! i think my friend n i bought d fake ones. d silver sticker has a serial number of 329859. u said d num. should b in 900000-1000000 already. there is also a gold sticker in it but when i removed it to check d original sign inside, d sticker was destroyed.
the bottle is not short but elongated n d gel pack inside doesn’t contain a blue Chinese writing but d sign “do not eat desiccant silica gel throw away” instead.
And the most frightening is when u said that there should be no side effect but 4 me, I’m experiencing insomnia, dry mouth, cold sweat, decreased appetite, headache, palpitations, and pimples on d lower part of my face…i bought it 4 P280…
On the 2nd day of taking these pills I got diarrhea. I own the REAL pills too. Everyday that I took these pills, I got diarrhea. I would not recommend these.
@ queen the word ” original ” should be printed on the box behind the gold rose sticker.
@ miss Jordan that is what most will experience in the first few days of taking the pills. Its like flushing out your system. After that everything is back to normal. You will not be hungry as much either you will be eating less. I now have lost 23 lbs in about 15 weeks. Of practically no exercise.
I know eat smaller portions and feel a lot better about my weight……. one thing I did notice is when I eat greasy foods I go to the bathroom within 20 mins or so. But if I eat healthy lighter foods I might not go to the bath room at all.
Researching these pills is not hard. Just GOOGLE phrases such as “fake hokkaido pills” or ” how to spot fake Japan hokkaido diet pills” or” guide to spotting fake japan hokkaido pills”. You will find many different sites with good information.
Lead, the only thing with that is that the fake pill sellers know we search for words like fake, scam ect and so they work those words into their websites and sometimes create posts that “appear” to address these concerns, in order to sell their pills.
Yea Joe many sellers address the differences on real and fakes. They do that to inform and ensure you that you are getting the real product. Its not just one site but a lot that state the same key items to look for and they make sense.
I don’t see people selling fakes proving how there product is real. All they ever say is ” I GUARANTEE they are AUTHENTIC” So all you have is some strangers “word” to go by that could care could less about your health. I went with what made sense and had proof to back it up.
Not just from one site but many sites that also backed up what the anti-counterfeit slip states in each box. I have used the with great results and no side effects. I understand being cautious about harmful products but there are still good people In the world that care about your health. Heck if you ask me our government is more corrupt than foreign companies. But that is a whole other subject in its own.
Where can i get this pills without getting them on line?
Roxi there are distributors of the product (I wont let them advertise here) but they are not sold in-stores in the US. I’m not sure about other countries.
Hello Everyone,
I just ordered these Pills, I weigh 309LBS right now, hoping these pills will take away some of this nasty fat!!! do they make u feel any jitters or speed up heart rate? I am very sensitive to meds!
Tawny, please do read through all the comments about these pills. There is a lot of information there. instead of the pills, Id also recommend seeing a registered dietitian who can recommend healthy foods to help you lose weight. you can find an RD in your area by going to their website and putting in your zip code. Here’s there website http://www.eatright.org/
Hey Joe,
I read some of the comments and I have been taking my pills for two days…dont feel much of a difference..still hungry…and dont have dry mouth….hmmmmm im starting to think they dont work!
Tawny, well Im glad you’re not having any weird side effects. I always thought that if they really did work because of those ingredients, its because its a laxative and nothing else.
Joe,
so I do have side effects…the bathroom is used more often (#2) dry mouth and I am getting light headaches but i believe the headaches are from not eating…I did loose 6lbs and I have been taking them for 4 days now…
If u take those pills will u come out dirty on drug test?
D, hard to say. If you search the comments, one person said nothing odd showed up when she tested it but others seem to feel it has some undeclared substances. I dont have any good answers for you on this issue.
Hello everyone…I’ve been taking these pills since July 5,2012 and have lost 22 pounds so far. I weighed 422 when i started and im now 401..the pills do make me thirsty and i go to the restroom a little more but Thats it. No other side effects for me. Also im updating every week on YouTube with my weight loss journey…
How i ended up here? Well i had two of my concerned subscribers tell me they think my pills are FAKE! So im just trying to look more into it now. But i know 10 others Thats taking the pills before i started and thy are losing weight like crazy! But i always suggest people check with there doctor and use at your on discretion. I hope im taking authentic Hokkaido pills.. Fingers crossed.
Hiya!
I used to take these pills 4yrs ago. I started taking them when I was weighing 85kgs, and got diagnosed as obese by my doc (I am only 158cm tall).
Paired with a healthy diet/portion control, not that you’ll have much of an appetite left, I lost a total of 20kgs in 60days.
Tip: Keep yourself hydrated! Drink at least 3L a day and you should be fine.
Cheers and Good Luck!
Sui
@D : it wont come out in the drug test ,I
took them for 4 months and I got a drug tested at
Work while I was still on it and I came out clean.
im taking these pills for 3 days now.. and my mouth is getting dry been drinking a lot
Hi Joe! Hi Girls!
Here are my updates and additional tips on taking Hokkaido Slimming Pills. After my last post, I decided to start taking them again.
Why? I recently just gave birth to a healthy baby boy, for my best friends, and during my pregnancy I regained all the weight (and a little more), that I had lost 4yrs ago.
I have been taking them now for more than a week, and have lost 5kgs so far. While taking them, I realized that there are a couple of things to watch out for, if you want to keep feeling healthy and energetic.
1) hydrate! hydrate! hydrate! – It’ll prevent dizziness and headaches.
2) take vitamins and eat loads of veggies! – Malnutrition due to loss of appetite is not cute.
3) if you are a smoker like me: try to cut down on those sticks! since the pills are putting your metabolism already in overdrive, try not to finish that entire pack of cigarettes. unless of course, you don’t mind those fun palpitations, which will leave you feeling like you’ve just finished a triathlon.
4) If you are one of us ladies in the early 30′s, and realizing that gravity is a B*. I highly recommend doing a combo of Lipo Cavitation (to get rid of those really stubborn love handles and jiggly inner thighs), and RadioFrequency Treatment (to firm the skin and get rid of cellulites).
What do you guys “partner” your Hokkaido pills with? Work out? Diet?
thanks Joe! I followed your advice and guess what? it’s the freakin’ pills! that’s why I stopped taking it. I really think it’s better to get a body you wanted in a hard but healthier way rather than have a sexy body immediately but taking your life slowly.
Joycee, fantastic! glad your feeling better
Im on day two of these pills and ive only felt a lil thirsty n warm but i was told it makes u sweat. I really hope they work since i used to use oxyelite pro n it was awesome but expensive and these are a lot cheaper, i weigh 230lbs n need to get down to at least 180lbs since i am 5’9″ tall i still want to be curvy n not look like a stick ill see how this goes
if all those extracts does not work…then why did i lost a lot of inches in just 3 months…from 39 to 31 that was february to may…and i continued using it and now my waist is down to 29, aside from that i don’t deprive myself from eating just to comprehend with the pill, i can eat almost everything & anything i like and not gain any weight just as long as i take these pills every morning before having my breakfast and it works for me.
here’s a link of my before & after use of Hokkaido slimming pills

thanks! i just hope this won’t make any negative reactions on others cause I use this product and I just want to stand for what I am using specially when I know it really works.
Angel, I maintain that the ingredients in the pills cant possibly work (except for having a laxative effect) but the fact that people say they have amazing results raises my suspicions that something else may be in them. I really hope that I am wrong Angel.
Hello I’m 17 and I’ve been taking these pills for 4 days now and it makes me thirsty and not hungry I’m not sure if I’ve lost weight I will check in 2 weeks
I started on Sunday at 230 n i now weigh 224
n I’m not in the restroom any more than before but it does make me sweat n thirsty so far i luv em hope they help others like me
Hi, my cousin wanted me to research these pills before she bought them and I am here to say they are not good. Even if these new ingredients suppress your hunger at first and make you lose a little weight, the bottom line is it was created by a shady company that is pretending to be a Japanese company.
A lot of things in the world, taken orally, makes you feel less hungry,(which, like Joe said there is no evidence these pills do) but they could be doing more harm for you than good. The name of the company in Japan doesn’t really exist.
And it has been featured on some “scam buster” type of show in Japan. I am someone who struggles with weight control so I understand how everyone feels. If you can lose with these pills, you can keep going without the pills.
Sandee, thats very interesting what you said about the Hokkaido company not really existing. Was the
“scam buster” show in Japan, in English? guessing not but if it is, I’d love a link to the show if you have it.
Hi Joe,
I have my two lady staff who are taking the pills. I can see that they are loosing inches. I wanted to try and i asked them to buy me one. But before i use it i was also skeptical as to the speedy weight loss, wherein it was claimed herbal. How did it work?
I soon found out that FDA banned a lot of Chinese weight loss pills because they do not disclose the true dangerous and deadly ingredients. And it was SALBUTRAMINE that makes it
work. Salbutramine causes cardiovascular cases such as heart attack, palpitations etc. it will make your mouth dry and it is also an appetite suppressant.
I did not use the bottle given to me. I also share to my lady staff and they stopped using. Please see banned Chinese slimming pills and its deadly content. Search about sibutramine as well. Hope this helps.
Hi Rose, Ive thought from the start that there was something suspicious in the product. If you found anything specific about these pills, please do share the link.
well everyone has their own opinions, but for me I don’t find anything wrong with it cause I always see the doctor since Ive been using such pills and all my medical results are definitely okay.
JOE…u think there may be drugs inside the pill?let me know tnx
Angel, all I can say is that other than acting as a laxative, I don’t understand how people are seeing the results they are having with these pills. weight loss pills from china etc have had problem with customs because they contained weight loss drugs. It all just makes me wonder.
OH God!, I got 2 friends who took this pill. They really lose weight extremely fast! so I bought 1 bottle that I shared with my sister. After 3 days of taking it, we both started having bad dreams and then my sister began to feel so sad that her husband saw her just quietly sitting on the couch not moving at all just being sad with tears falling in her eyes. It has effects on your emotions. Some of my other friends who tried it stop too because they can’t take the effects on your brain/emotion… I think it makes you hallucinate ???
OH MY GOD!! I DID NOT REPLIED ON ANY OTHER COMMENT BUT THIS! I also thought that this pill might be a depressant (pardon my typos). i started taking the pills a week now and started feeling depressed. I called my relative and started crying, with no valid reasons! i just feel down and disturbed.
I have also been craving before for sweets and food every 3 minutes because of my eating disorders, but now , i have to remember the hours i have eat or else Ill be feeling full all day long and end up being dizzy.
Aside from depression, suppressed cravings, I also get the goosebumps and cold sweats every now and then.
On the contrary of others statements, I feel my pulse is slower than ever and I feel weak and less talkative.. Very weird..
for those of you who are taking the pill and it’s working for you guys, how can you tell If it’s real? is the inside of the pill a certain color? a friend told me that they were like a crystal white but I’m taking some and the inside of them were like a brown sugar color. can anyone please let me know?
Mine are pink capsules, i also lost the box so now i have no way of telling except if I purchase a new one
been taking this pills for 7 days now. I was 180 lbs, AND I am now at 175 lbs. 5 lbs in 7 days. Not bad. But of course with proper diet. My friend lose 20 lbs in one week with excercise.
I have taken almost a full bottle. I am so thirsty. I wake up with dry mouth and it’s terrible! I have only been taking 1 a day because I was getting so dizzy but I am sure it is because my blood pressure was dropping.
I am just researching these, cuz I didn’t even know how to find the actual name of the pills. ANyways, I just wanted to lose a few pounds and I did but I was also doing low carb at the same time. I did lose the few pounds that I wanted and I am sure the pills took away some of the cravings for carbs.
But I don’t think I will order another bottle, it just seems too risky. I am not normally a person for any DIET PILLS but I just wanted a little extra help with getting the last few pounds off. I started at 139 and dropped to 131.
My pills are in a pink capsule and the powder stuff is a brownish color too.
hey can some one tell me why this pills are not working for me? i been taking them for a week nd 3 days now nd i still have not lost no pounds? i dont get any of the symptoms.
my friends bought them from the same person i did from nd they work on them but not me. why?? please some one help?
Can guys use those pills too?
Carlos, I see no problems why not but remember that I still have a lot of questions about whether these pills really have what they say.
I’m a guy and it actually worked for me. I’m a few pounds overweight for like several years and I was able to slim down, unbelievably in just 1 week.
I’ve tried dieting and going to the gym for about 2 months and I didn’t lose fat significantly, just maybe a kilo and a few grams and that’s when I stopped going to the gym. After a few months, with some little hope that remained on me I tried working out again and started on my diet.
I just heard the product from a friend of mine and out of curiosity, tried it. I was able to lose 5 kilos after a week and that’s when I started to continue taking up those capsules till I’ve reached my appropriate BMI.
Just drink a lot of water (as if you wouldn’t because you would really be thirsty) and still take your meal regularly, and when I say regularly even if you don’t feel hungry. You will feel palpitations starting on first use but personally it was tolerable and didn’t intervene with my daily work/routine.
On the other hand, it may just also be a case to case basis because every body is different.
just my opinion but heart palpitations, scare the daylights out of me. I dont want my heart beating fast or regular if I’m just sitting there. Don’t know why people dont take this very serious problem, seriously. If your heart stops, you die. Case closed. Game over.
hello Friends,
i am using these pills from last 8 days and I lost around 3 K.g, I use to take 2 pills early morning before the break fast, all the day I am drinking lot of water, because it dries the throat and mouth.
Weight loss is good but the problem I am feeling is bit horrible is that I feel that I am loosing the erection and from last three days even I don’t have any morning erection. Can any one suggest me any thing…?
obnoxious, stop taking the pills then and see what happens.
Hey Joe,
Though I do appreciate the fact that you did all the research for these pills and their contents it has to be more than just a laxative. I have suffered from Chrones disease and IBS and have constant diarrhea so I should have been super thin. No, I started July 8th and as of now October 16th 169 lbs. I actually now only have two bowel movements a day instead of the regular 6 I have had to deal with my whole life.
Yes, I drink more water now because I do get thirsty from them but I never drank water before so to me this is just an upside. I pay 40.00 a bottle and have experienced no side effects other than making sure I drink more water. I have less cravings, no crazy high energy or heart things going. To me this is truly a miracle. I drink the same amount of alcohol and dont exercise.
All things I will be choosing to change soon. My point is that though I am obviously not living a very healthy life style im still dropping weight like its nothing. I understand from a scientific point of view you have a hard time thinking this can work but it has changed my life and I will NEVER go back to the person I was before.
K young, glad you have found something that you feel is working for you. I still do have a hard time believing that Hokkaido pills work in any other way but a as a laxative- if the ingredients listed are all that’s in them. I know I am in the minority with my thoughts that the pills may contain something else not listed on the label. But, if you feel as though its helped you, I will be happy for that at least.
Hi Joe,
I used to take Phentramine pills from a weight Dr and those had to be monitored, that got to expensive for me and my friend introduced me to these and I just started taking them. I been taking them for 3 day’s now as recommended and I think they have I same side effects as the Phentramine pills did and you will get headaches from lack of water.
I weighed myself Monday the day I started taking them and will Wait till Monday again to reweigh myself again to see if I am loosing, but I do go to the restroom regularly which is a plus for me because I don’t have normal movements.. Are you planning on doing more research on this product?
Margie, I try to keep up with new info on Hokkaido pills. Best I can say is when new information becomes available I’ll update my review of them.
Where is everyone getting the pills from? I’m just wondering if anyone knows a reliable source online or a distributor in the Austin Texas area
Lauren, these pills are not sold in stores but rather from distributors who import them from outside the US. be careful with them. I still believe Hokkaido pills contain a hidden weight loss drug. I was finally proven right when the FDA confirmed my suspicious with Zi Xiu Tang weight loss pills and I think in time Ill be proven right with these things too.
obnoxious:
My husband had the same problem with erection, when he stop taking them everything popped back up… And Joe why don’t you order some pills and do the lab testing yourself to see whats in them? Just Asking.
Lynn, Lab testing would be very expensive especially if I did it on a regular basis. I wish I knew somebody at a college who could run these tests for me. If I was still in college I would be running the tests myself and writing papers on them.
One of my hopes with my reviews is that others – college students, teachers, the FDA etc – read them and get curious enough to run the tests.
How can i find a distributor then who is selling the real ones?
I am a college student at the university of texas at austin and am interested in running tests on the pills!
Lauren. great! Does anybody have any Hokkaido pills to give to lauren to test? Lauren what are you studying in college? what kind of tests were you thinking about?
I can send her a bottle
I have some REAL Hokkaido pills and would give Lauren some if she shared the results of the tests with me.
I can also let her know where I buy them from, and they are legit. Please email me privately.
Carol I will pass your email on to lauren
any update on this? im also taking this right now but i take it after eating breakfast or lunch..i also feel palpitations but bearable.
kookai i dont feel good about your heart paplatations…
Just as suspected months ago, Japanese Hokkaido pills do in fact contain a banned, unlisted substance (Sibutramine). Here’s the official FDA announcement:
http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesForYou/Consumers/BuyingUsingMedicineSafely/MedicationHealthFraud/ucm327451.htm?source=govdelivery
MeSoHungry, you beat me to the punch – I just found this myself!
Are those the authentic pills ?
I have been taking the real one for about 4 months off and on I have lost 26 lbs in total which I haven’t been able to lose in years. U do get very thirsty and don’t get hungry.
The only side affects I think may come from it dry skin and if u don’t eat is very low energy. I have gone days with just coffee bc I haven’t been hungry and I forgot to eat.
My blood pressure has not gotten higher and my pulse has decreased (I have a very high pulse my normal 126 bpm). I can say I haven’t been regular in my Monthly cycle, I think I get it maybe every 2 months. I do want to stop taking it but I want to lose 20lbs more still thinking about it :/
Nana, you did see the link where the FDA found an illegal weight loss drug in Hokkaido pills – a drug that might cause a heart attack.
Water is the best supplement to loose weight!!!!
The first time I heard about these pills, I didn’t even think of trying. I just didn’t believe it. My friends started using them and all of them lost weight. So now I’m trying them and I say they work. You have no appetite or any kind of craving for food. But you still have to eat a little unless you wan’t an ulcer.
So far I’ve been using them for a week (2 pills a day) and have lost 4 lbs. Drinking a lot of water is a must.
I do not recommend these for people 30 and above, I’ve heard a lot of complaints like heart bounding and Numbness of the body.
Dice, these pills have a weight loss drug. its confirmed. see the FDA alert on them in my review. NOBODY should use them. The weight loss drug is linked to heart problems.
Joe, The ones posted by FDA are fake ones i think, there were no rose badges like the ones described by one of your commenter… T_T , I really hope the test of Lauren can be released as soon as possible.
Magicalme, the issue is that if I just look at the listed ingredients in Hokkaido pills, I don’t see how it can work. Other than adding a little fiber to the diet, I see no way that the pills can produce the weight loss some people report. I just don’t think this is a “counterfeit hokkaido pills” issue. Time will tell.
so weird Ive been taking these pills off and on for years.. ill start taking them then end up giving them away .. they make me nervous, no appetite, and I CANT SLEEP. its so weird all the posts Ive read nobody mentioned anything about insomnia..
it is so hard for me to sleep when i take these pills even if i take them 6am i still have to take a Advil pm to sleep and i sleep for 4 to 5 hours.. today is day two and just read that one of the ingredients in the pill increases blood pressure and i already have high blood pressure!! omg i cant catch a break guess ill be giving them away again.
doesn’t it seem toooo risky to take these pills being that i have high blood pressure?? they do make me lose weight but i dont wanna lose my life.. #got kids lol
Marrame, Please stop taking them. They are not safe.
thank u! im not taking them anymore
ive also been using this pill for three days now and have experienced palpitations, numbness, dry mouth, dizziness and headache.,
Jentian, you need to stop taking them now. Hokkaido pills are NOT safe
i already stop taking them., what remedy can i do? i still feel those effects.,
Jentian, go to the doctor and get checked out.
i already took 3 bottles of these japan hokkaido diet pills in a year and from 165 lbs, i’m down to 125 lbs now. They really work especially if you do some exercises. The side effects on me are insomnia, dry mouth, heart palpitation, and numbness. I’m planning to take them again next month . But, I’m already considering what damage will it bring me in the future… :/
I have read the post from FDA and I still have a few pills on-hand… I’m still planning on finishing them, though. One of the side effects I’m experiencing is my throat making a sort of a croaking noise, often mistaken for a grumbling stomach. Right now I can feel it sort of… prominent and it makes me want to vomit. I’m quite surprised no one else has experienced this. Is this a sign for my upcoming heart attack?
Anna, I dont know but Im not a doctor. I strongly recommend you stop taking them now and go to the doctor. weight loss is NOT worth a heart attack or stroke
wow.. so much reactions from jap hok..
have tried this before, bought 2 bottles from magic potion. but only for a week,,, why? experienced palpitations, dry mouth.. headaches..
yes, there’s an amazing weight reduction,, in a wk Ive lost 3 kgs. but what the heck.. i dont want to lose myself in exchange of weight loss. joe was right.. i think it has a secret ingredient that dont actually appear in the box.
and what do u all expect.. we dont now either who the manufacturer was and doesn’t have any address, phone numbers or email add. anyway,, just needed to comment on this to let everyone know that aint no right with this pills. and if u think u have to tried this for yourself.. i still have 1 bottle left… but be sure to read all the comments who have tried this before including me,, might help u to think twice before using this product. its not even recommended by fda. better to be safe than never…
I have tried this as well but started with only a pill a day. I just needed to shed a few lbs. I lost 4lbs in a week but with workout 3x/week. I felt completely fine. None of any of the side effects mentioned above.
But the minute I stopped taking them, I felt ALL the side effects. Dry mouth. Palpitations. Always thirsty. Numbness.
Been off the pills for 3 days now and am still feeling the effects. It’s scaring me. I threw all of whatever’s left.
I don’t suggest this for anyone
It works well for me. yeah, it gets you dehydrated. We’ve been informed by the product. It says there, anyway I’m gonna stop taking it, just as soon as I’m able to achieve my target weight.
The bottom line is if you want to lose weight do something about it. I don’t mean trying to find magic pills that give you these strange feelings and side effects. Stop eating garbage and exercise. True health and fitness come from dedication and hard work.
I don’t want to rain on anybodies parade but unless you eat right and exercise the results you get will never stick. They are a temporary fix to a life long problem. I have been over weight my whole life and am now making these changes.
If like me it’s a problem you’ve always had then it is time to make life changes because what you have been doing obviously is not the answer. Just saying.
Anna,
I’m not trying to scare you. But Please see a Dr. immediately
I’ve worked in the E.R. for 2 years and have seen strange undocumented(not in the book) symptoms. That croaking noise, I don’t know exactly what pitch yours is but I’ve seen it in 3 patients, 1 with heart failure (first symptom), 1 with Pulmonary Hypertension and 1 about to have a heart attack. I hope I’m being paranoid… But please see a Doctor. just to be safe.
Dice, thanks for saying that! I was not aware of this.
Joe and Dice, thank you for replying and worrying for my health. I’m actually just a student and I haven’t told my parents I’m taking weight loss pills. I’ll have it checked in our clinic at school. Again, thanks for your concern!
Anna, please stop taking the pills and I hope things work out for you at the clinic. I would tell your parents too. They are there to help you. Please let them.
Thanks a lot, Joe! In addition, I have experienced bleeding even when it is not my time of the month, I wonder about this, too. I have yet to go to the clinic, by the way.
Anna, please go to the clinic today. take the hokkaido pills with you. Tell them about your bleeding too. Its best to know whats going on especially now since the holidays are coming up and you’ll probably be away from school for break soon.
Anna,
You need to see a Doctor immediately.
These Pills like Joe said contain Sibutramine, in regulated small doses under the supervision of a Physician I can say safe. But we have no Idea how much these pills contain and there are so many contraindications that it’s dangerous to take them.

I have been taking them for a few months, I did feel some of these side affects but not the numbness thank goodness. After a few weeks the side effects have pretty much gone away, I have lost almost two pant sizes and I hate to weigh so don’t!! I have fibromyalgia and it actually helps with my body aches…dont know how or why but it does make me feel better. I am currently not on any meds for it. It also does not make me feel bloated or weighed down.
Autumn, my guess is that since you lost weight, you are putting less stress on your joints. this may cause less fibromyalgia pain. Since fibromyalgia is a condition related to hyper sensitive nerves, less joint stress may mean reduced pain signals. I am only guessing on this so take it for what its worth.
I used to take pills like this before, it worked but of course, when I stopped, I started gaining weight again. Got so nervous as well since you really do not know what you are taking… I took Zhen de Shou and Slimina… I think there will come a time that even with your continuous use, it will plateau eventually.
I have been taking these pills and have lost about 7 pounds in three weeks. I have not been exercising. I do not have any of those symptoms described above. My only experience with these pills is I am never hungry, I make myself eat. I have somewhat dry mouth, but I drink lots of water anyway so I don’t experience major thirst.
I do have night stool release, in the morning. If I eat Chinese food I will have a reaction and have a diarrhea type of effect on my body; not all the time only if I eat heavy oil content foods. I take the gold label box.
I did read the FDA warning and I wonder which box does it apply to since there are more than one type of labels? there is the gold, blue and black labels?
What I like is that it helps me to control my eating.
Yvon, I believe the FDA warning is for all Hokkaido pills. I am happy that you are not having any side effects.
Sorry – despite all the warnings here, i still want to try it.
I will regulate my own dosage though, I will take as instructed (2 pills-a-day) for 5 days, then take 1 pill daily for 10 days then 1 pill every other day for another 10 days.
I just want help to flush out those unwanted fats then, slowly trying to get my metabolism back the way it was…
After some time, when i get my ideal weight, i will maintain my figure thru exercised and workouts.
Thanks for this site and the very knowledgeable people here.
Matty, just know that no supplement “flushes” fat from the body. I’ll cross my fingers that you dont have any problems with it.
I just bought a bottle today. I took a pill (not 2 pills) before lunch. I just planning to lose 10 lbs then I’ll quit.
I’m currently doing aerobics for cardio and strength training 3x a week and planning to do run 2x since its the holiday vacation already.
Would it be safe if I continue to take the pills?
Shay you ask a question that I don’t think anybody can answer. Hokkaido pills were found to contain a weight loss drug that was banned because of health risks. I don’t know how much of the drug is in Hokkaido pills and I don’t know if any amount is “safe.” I think you’re taking a risk with even 1 pill but it comes down to I just don’t know. Why don’t you talk to your doctor or pharmacist about this and see what they say. Please do let me know what you turn up.
Hello Joe, I am 61 years old. I started taking the Japanese Hokkaido pills March 1, 2012. I have lost 28 lbs, and went from size 16-18 to size 12. I have had boxes tested at my sister in laws work place where they do that sort of drug testing.
The first box I had tested did have sibutrimine in it. Then the guy I bought from couldn’t believe it, so he started testing them at the same place. The next batch did not have it in it.
So who knows what is in the pills. I have lost a lot of inches. I took the pills to my regular doctor. He said if I am loosing weight and no side effects than it was ok.
I also took the pills to my heart doctor I go to every year. He said the same thing. To me the pill is a fat flusher, so you are going to have diarrhea if you eat greasy fat foods. At first I did have diarhea a lot and now I don’t.
I did have real dry mouth but started drinking lot more water, so I don’t have that any more. My doctor had my blood tested to see what changes I had about a month and a half after I started the pills and had lost 10 lbs.
I have always had high triglycerides 300 (fat in your blood) and when my blood tests came back my triglycerides was 150. I am still taking the pills. I stop every once in a while to get off of them.
I believe if you take these pills it effects people different ways, has different side effects. I also believe if you have a headache could be you are not eating. You still have to eat something. I recommend drinking lots of water and taking a supplement vitamin.
Barbara, thanks for writing. Im guessing that your reduced triglycerides were due to your weight loss. That is good because high triglycerides are associated with more stroke risk in women (men too but its greater in women as I understand it). That said, I am totally surprised that both your doctors would say they were ok AFTER you told them you tested the pills and found some batches had an sibutrimine.
Joe, I failed to tell the doctors that some batches had sibutrimine in them. All they asked after looking at my paperwork was if I had any side effects. Which I didn’t other than the dry mouth early in taking the pills. At the time, I didn’t even think about the sibutrimine.
These pills have been out for years and when I started taking them I looked on line for any bad information as to side effects and what they could do to you. Didn’t find anything bad about them. I also found your blog back then in March 2012. This is the first time FDA reported on these pills.
Barbara, thanks for letting me know. I’m positive the doctors would have said something different if they knew. Its too bad though that their radar didn’t go up when you mentioned the name of the pills. Mine does any time a weight loss supplement sounds like it comes from Asia.
I started using this pill last Saturday.. I never had a chance to sleep.. On Monday.. I had a diarrhea and shamely got an anal fissure because of too much defecating..so on Tuesday morning. I stopped taking hokaido pills. Tuesday night i experienced too much dizziness so i lay down on the bed thinking it would help.. In just a while, i can feel that my heart is slowly breathing! And really had a difficulty to breathe..
So then i told my mum that i am losing my breath.. My mum and aunt rushed me in the hospital.. And doctor said i had a complication in the heart and asked me to stop using pills. I got really traumatized! Up to now i still feel so week.. And get exhausted very easily.. Yes, it just happen in a week and i only had 6 pills.. I promise myself that i will never take any pills again.. Don’t wanna risk my life.. Seriously guys.. I almost die
Abster, WOW! I’m really glad you are ok! I don’t know who sold you these pills Abster but PLEASE tell the distributor what happened. I think some people who sell them are under the misguided notion that only certain pills are unsafe (counterfeit pills etc) which I just dont believe. I believe they need to know they are selling things that can hurt people. I glad you are not going to use Hokkaido weight loss pills anymore and that you are ok.
Hi Joe, i just bought it from my colleague and he just ordered it from his neighbour also and I was advised that i could be allergic with one of the substance in the pills..
Anyways, it’s not illegal here in Philippines.. So i really can’t do anything to make the distribution stopped.. At the moment, i am still experiencing pain on my back and nape.
Dizziness and palpitation.. I really hope to be fully recovered soon! So i can go back to work.. I already warned my friends but it seems that they still wanna continue it
please note that i have no history of any heart diseases. But now, i really felt that it did made a huge impact in my heart..
Abster, Ill say a prayer you start to feel better soon and no lasting damage was done.
Japan Hokkaido Slimming Pills is effective.
I’m taking the genuine one and I lost 1 kg in three days! I’m confident that I will lose more than 5 kg in a month or two! To lose more weight, combine the pills with a balanced diet, lots of water, and exercise. The results will make you happy and satisfied!
Always remember this: NOT ALL EFFECTS ARE THE SAME. We’re different individuals. Our body has different reactions to the pill so don’t expect that we will all experience the same effects.. but it will surely help you lose weight fast!
Me and my friend didn’t experience the same effect even if we took the genuine pill from the same bottle.. the effects are like laxative to her while I felt less hungry and more thirsty. We both take this pill every morning. Of course you have to try one pill first and know the effects on your body before continuing. If you nothing’s happening to you, then you surely bought the fake pills.
Know the genuine and the fake! Google it!
Janice, I’m glad you are having some success but I have to ask how do you know your 2.2 pounds of weight loss in 3 days are due to Hokkaido pills or the fact that you are also doing a “balanced diet, lots of water and exercise?” If you were doing those things Id expect you to lose weight. 2.2 pounds in 3 days is less than a pound a day which is a healthy weight loss.
Believe me Im not trying to argue with you -I want to your weight loss to continue to where you get to your desired weight. I just think its not the pills doing it.
Hey people,
My sister started taking these pills and in 4 months lost 40 lbs so obv, I wanted to give it a try. I have been on them for 3 weeks lost 6 lbs. I am not doing anything different. The pills make me not hungry and not want food at all. They do keep me up at night and thirsty isn’t the word more like dying for one drop of water!!!!
I have had days where I didn’t feel jittery but my heart was pounding a little harder than normal. That I didn’t like. Do I think this is a good idea? Well not really but I don’t plan on taking it forever. I am getting married in 5 months and need to drop some weight. I do work out, but I am taking the pills because if not I am always hungry!!! I hate it lol. Thanks for the site Joe!
Hello there, This website is very interesting! I have a friend that is using this hokkaido slimming pills and She lost a lot of weight. Her tummy, arms, and thighs got a lot smaller. She just finish her 1st bottle. So because of that. I purchased these pills and I am on my 3rd day of taking it. I started at 142 lbs.
The first day I took 2 pills 30 mins before breakfast as instructed on the label. 30 mins after I experience sweating and I got really thirsty. I felt light headed as well like everybody else, and most of the side effects other experienced. I talked to my friend and asked her about these side effects.
She told me that she is taking the pills 1 in the morning and 1 at night because she felt like 2 pills at a time is was very strong for her. After that she doesnt feel nauseated and dizzy anymore but she still has no appetite and she still fells thirsty all the time. She has no problem sleeping. So I will do what she’s doing right now. Maybe every individual is different so we have different reaction to this slimming pill.
I will just remember that too much is bad always. I am not planning to take this pill forever. I am just hoping that this pill will help me start on my weight loss and I will eat healthy and exercise at least 30 mins 3 times a week as well.
Thanks!
hi,
my husband and i just started taking this pills a couple of days ago. the first time we took the pills:
we felt dizzy the first time we took the pill, always thirsty and was not really feeling good. my husband’s blood pressure shoot up. after our afternoon nap, he said he’s not feeling very good and asked me to take his bp. i took his bp and it was 143/110, i panicked for a while so i let him rest early for the night and gave him a medicine. i did not let him take the pill the next day.
aside from the dizziness that we felt, we also noticed that lesser appetite, we get hungry but we eat less.
what makes me decide to take this pill is because our neighbor who has not menstruated for 3yrs and 5months after taking the pill, had spotting and finally got her period. she also lost weight.
i think this pill can really make you lose weight. but my worry is just if there would be side effects like not having a baby. the reason i took this pill, too, is because i am overweight for my height and age and i really want to get pregnant. but my OB said i really need to lose weight first because i am a PCOS patient.
now, reading all these good and bad effects of this pill…i am not sure anymore if i should continue taking the pills or not. i want to lose weight because i want to have a baby and i’m really having a difficult time losing weight.
thoughts on this?
Helen, I’ve been very vocal on the fact that I do not trust these pills. I do not feel they are safe and I do not think they work without the added “secret” ingredient which the FDA has said is an illegal weight loss drug called sibutramine. Here is the FDA warning letter
http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesForYou/Consumers/BuyingUsingMedicineSafely/MedicationHealthFraud/ucm327451.htm
I say stop taking these pills and throw them away. If your husband is no better go to your doctor.
i am rose and i am from the Philippines.
i just purchased my first bottle (and planning not to do it again) of japan hokkaido slimming pills today, which capsule is colored green and yellow (with a light beige color inside). i have made a research about this before buying from an online store in metro manila. i was reassured by the seller that this one is original, bearing the silver and gold rose stickers with all different numbers on it.
i am afraid of taking it, however, i still wanted to try it out because i believe i purchased the original ones and i needed to loose weight in time for a wedding this April.
i actually prayed to God while i was planning to purchase it, that if it would do good to me, He would let me find a seller of original ones near my area. then, it happened.
i am lifting everything to God as I would be taking the pills tomorrow morning.
hi im rose from phil
my friend is on her second bottle and shes really losing weight
im planning to buy only a bottle but had a second thought after reading the comments on this site
im a 130lbs and just wanted to lose 30lbs and maintain that
can you suggest any supplement?
i dont have time for exercises
but i love sweets
another thing is i cant do the self discipline
any reply would be appreciated
thanks a lot
Rose, no supplement will help you if you dont change the way you eat. Even if a supplement did curb your desire for sweets, once you stopped the product – and you eventfully would – any weight you lost would return as you went back to eating the way you used to. Since you have computer access, I say check out MyFitnessPal.com and use it to keep tabs of your eating and exercise. I know you said you dont have time for exercise but do you have even 20 minutes to talk a walk? How about getting down on the floor and doing 10 push ups – or 5 push ups? or walking up and down your steps 5 times a day? Exercise doesn’t mean going to a gym. you can find the time to do something Rose. Also look at the National Weight Control registery to see what those people did to lose weight.
I dont think supplements are the answer for you Rose because they alone wont do the work for you. you have to do your part too.
hi thanks for the reply
, i do take a brisk walk everyday for about 20mins but it didnt change my weight, i think i would stop craving for sweets thanks again
Rose, exercise alone usually isnt enough to help weight loss unless we do a lot of it. for example, the new weight loss guidelines in the US are 90 minutes of exercise a day. this can be broken up into smaller bouts (for example, 3 30 minute sessions per day) but, since thats not always possible, its best to combine it with eating a few less calories per day.
That said, dont give up. even if it didn’t help weight loss, your 20 minute brisk walk DID help a lot of other things to keep you healthy -and that is VERY important!
Hi Joe
I have already finished one bottle of these and working on my second now. I have not had any weird side effects and have lost 15 lbs so far but now its seems I have stopped losing weight and inches! I am getting married in July and I have tried diets but they just don’t work and I need to lose another 10 lbs at least to fit in my wedding dress.
My question is do you know if the body builds and immunity to them like other things? Should I start taking more then 2 pills in a day to make them work again?
Kathy, when you say immunity I think you mean do we build up a tolerance, where more of the pills would be needed to get the same benefits. While I don’t honestly know the answer to this, my gut instinct is that we do not build up a tollarance to Hokkaido weight loss pills. You said you were on your 2nd bottle which makes me wonder if the contents of the bottles is the same?
Because the FDA has found an illegal weight loss drug in Hokkaido pills I think its more likely that some bottles may have that drug while others might not.
I would not take more than the recommended amount and for what its worth, I would not take them at all.
Hi everyone here,
Im also taking hokkaido before and at first i really amazed on the effect i loose 2.5 kg within 2 weeks but when i finish taking my first bottle i experience those side affect that they mention earlier like insomnia, Lots of PIMPLES that i really hate and the worst, a high level of uric acid and Etc…so for those people planning to take this pills ,please do think wisely coz your really not going to like what is the side effect on your body..
Hi to all,
I gained a lot of weight from taking birth control pills for 2 years & just recently stopped it. I am really kinda desperate to lost weight, I don’t have time to exercise,I do not have an idea what is my weight now because I am afraid to know that I might be obese or near to obese, I think I am 65-70 kgs & I am only 5 ft & 2 inches in height (imagine?).
I ordered 1 bottle of Hok yesterday through online, and hopefully I’ll receive it by tomorrow. I feel worry after I had all read your comments here but on the other side, I’d really like to lost weight instantly lol so I should try this.
I am planning to take one pill first so I will know the effects to my body & will be warn if not good, so good luck to me.. I’ll update you guys soon, thanks for this blog. Anyway, am from Philippines
Che, I think you will have to do more than take a pill. you said you dont even want to know your weight. you will need to know this. I think you can find time to take a 20 minute walk a day cant you? Regardless, I would not trust these pills. I cant recommend them.
Hello Joe,
I took the pill now, no other effects aside from being always thirsty, sweating, and I wasn’t feel so much hunger though I only ate 1 cup of rice only but anyway, this is my second day of taking it.
Che, sweating sounds odd to me. Its up to you but I will advise yo to not use those pills. I just dont have a good feeling about them.
My last taking of my weight was one year ago, & I was 132lbs at that time & I feel bigger now, as others told too.. Facebook online shops are very popular in Philippines & I read all the photo comments in before & after pic, this pill is really effective costumers says, the major effect is they will get thirsty & drink a lot of water.. Anyway, I dont have the opportunity to take my weight for now.. I got the pill later this afternoon, I’ll take it tom, Ill update you soon.
Hello, Joe! I’ve been researching about Hokaido pills for a while. I was interested in taking them until I read your post and everything makes sense now. I wanted to know if they really are safe because my friends are taking the pills and they claim that they surely have lost the weight. One of my friend, a guy, told me he lost so much weight back when he took the pills but had trouble concentrating in school. Also, with his present figure, I could tell his weight surely doubled up.
My other friend, a girl, told me she saw instant results but had trouble sleeping at night and in just 3 days of taking the pills, she knew she just had to stop. I also noticed she had pimples around her chin which was surprising. It also happened to my best friend and she’s bigger than ever. All of these three people told me they experienced excessive thirst or Polydipsia, Dehydration, Insomnia, Acne Vulgaris, Anorexia and to the extent, Palpitations.
They also claimed that they took the original ones. Two of them bought their bottles from the Chinese drug store while the other one bought her bottle from her uncle who was a supplier of these pills.
Now, with all these symptoms being said, I take it Hokkaido pill contains a diuretic component, just like Joe said. The fact that you become so thirsty is already a sign of dehydration and that’s how you lose weight because the human body is made of 70% water. Diaphoresis or excessive sweat also contributes to weight loss.
For those who experience Diarrhea, expect that you’re losing water and electrolytes that are vital for your function. Dizziness may be the result of dehydration or the starvation. Since Hokkaido pill is claimed to be a diet suppressant, it only means you don’t feel the hunger but deep within, your body is already starving and must use the stored fats in order to fuel up and continue it’s function.
Now I know it sounds good that you’re burning fats but it causes ketone build up in your system and your brain uses it. Ketones are acidic and toxic to the brain. It will destroy your neurons making it difficult for you to concentrate in work or class and in the long run, you will have short term memory. In other words, you become dumb. This explains why your head hurts or you feel dizziness when you haven’t eaten anything or when you are experiencing hypoglycemia. Diabetic Ketoacidosis is linked this.
The acne vulgaris is obviously linked to insomnia due to the lack of sleep and oxygenation. I have also read your post saying that it contains L-Carnitine which helps in weight loss. It doesn’t really make you lose weight but it helps metabolize the cholesterol and distribute it to areas where it is needed by the body. Anything in excess is useless, therefore, builds up. However, L-Carnitine ONLY works when there is enough oxygenation which means you have to have a proper exercise and sleep routine. So for those of you, especially living in the Philippines who take Fit and Right with L-Carnitine, seriously, stop relying on it and not do anything else. Get up and exercise!
As for the palpitation, well that’s the side effect of the dehydration since your body is trying to compensate for the dehydration, thus increasing your blood pressure. If you continue this and you don’t drink enough water, expect that your pulse will go slow since your body cannot compensate any longer and that’s an alarming sign.
Whether you’re taking the fake or real ones, if you have the following symptoms, consider yourself at risk.
I hope this helps out those who are taking the pill or are planning to take it. I can only explain the cause and effect of these symptoms because I learned them from my Nursing and Med school experience. As for the different herbal extracts, that’s out of my scope of knowledge. lol
The best way to lose weight is exercise and proper diet ( it means no skipping meals. There’s a difference between diet and starvation. Unless of course, you want to destroy your brain with ketone build up ) that includes eating the right kind of food. Above everything else, the most important is DISCIPLINE. Nothing great comes easy. You must work hard for it. Set a goal and keep it. God bless!
